    Xbox Halo running on PC?

    maybe:

new Xbox simulator for PCs called Xeon.

I've not tried it, there is a discussion here where some people are claiming success:

A forum community dedicated to all emulation enthusiasts. Come Join discussion on all platforms from Nintendo, Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation, to PC. Coding, tips, builds, specs, tricks and more.

    The wonders of emulation, eh.

To be honest, unless it's on the Xbox itself, I couldn't really care less about emulation these days. I can't imagine doing it on my PC any more.

And thankfully, my Xbox runs Xbox Halo absolutely fine.

very funny joke! a pc running an xbox emulator? i don't think that playing xbox games on a pc is technically possible at this time - not at full speed! even a highend 3 ghz pc would have massive problems to truly emulate a 733 mhz pentium 3 based system including nvidia-xgpu (advanced gforce3) graphics chipset and realtime dolby digital 5.1 sound!

i think the only system of the near future capable of emulating xbox games will be the xbox 2 - hopefully! 8)

I hope it's real. Serves no real purpose to me but I'm sure it'd be fun to tinker with

Huh? It's not going to have to emulate it, is it? It's the same basic architecture so I'd guess youd probably be ok with a bit higher than like for like specs.

note the fact i used the word 'simulator'

and it doesn't run full speed.

as said, fun to tinker with

Don't know what your knocking here,

If you like x box stuff ( I don't but thats not the point ) then what could be better than playing your beloved halo outside in the sunny garden eh!

I reckon they will be emulating that ****e on all PC's in no time in "Enhanced" mode compared to the actual x box itself.

One would have thought also that emulating the x box on a PC would be the easiest of all the current machines too 8)

Hmm, yes, an X86 processor based PC with a D3D gfx card would have such trouble running code for an x86 based console using a D3D gfx card.

                    Argh.

                      note it's running at 0fps.

Don't forget the huge ball & chain tied to the PC's ankle - commonly known as Windows

There's actually a lot more of a difference in architecture between the two than most people realise, I think. The individual bits are all PC/PC-like, but the way they are connected together is quite different, afaik. Or I could have dreamed that bit

You dreamed it blud Integrated Motherboard connected to a DVD drive and HDD via IDE cables with a fan at the back - it's a PC.

I think I meant the cpu -> memory -> gfx chipset -> sound chipset etc connections - but hey what do i know!

Exactly the same with me. Since xbox emulation, I couldn't give a f**k about the PC when it comes to playing retro games anymore. The xbox emus are so much better because they just work. The display doesn't need tweaking because it already runs at 60hz vsyncd, unlike a PC where you have to mess with a load of settings. It's already got 4 ports. A nice big telly beats *any* monitor for having a round of Street Fighter Zero too.

Playing emulated games on the xbrick is practically as easy as playing normal games. I'm so happy Kawax and mame have matured so quickly on this format.
