I've become quite addicted to Metal Slug Double X. It is called Double X and not XX as it is announced as such on the title screen.

My only gripe is that you cannot unassign buttons. There is this odd L button thing where you can make Ralf and Clark do their Up, A and E moves by just hitting L. I'd rather be able to unassign it and actually press Up, A and E. I guess I can just ignore L altogether, but it bothers me nonetheless.

For those that don't know. The game can be played in full-screen mode, without stretching.

    I like it lots.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

      Muramasa: The Demon Blade [Wii]
Completed both Momohime's and Kisuke's stories and also achieved their 2nd endings. Now I'm currently going through all previously inaccessible areas in order to gain all swords and see both characters' 3rd endings. Awesome game - my favourite of 2009 and one of the best this gen. Aurally and visually this is up there with Okami for me as the pinnacle of what videogames can offer.

      Bayonetta [360]
From one amazing game to another - I've only completed the first 4 chapters but it is easy to see why this has been scoring so highly, including the infamous Edge 10. Not even the screen tearing and occasional slowdown has dampened my enthusiasm so far. Can't wait to see what the rest of the game has to offer, and then do it all again on a harder difficulty. Already a real possibility for GOTY 2010.

Ah, screen tearing is normal then. As a retired PC gamer (lol?) I noticed that very often - no real slowdown on the 360 version though iirc.

        Great game though.

Ryu Ga Gotoku/Yakuza 3. Why'd I ever put it down in the first place? Awesome stuff. I think this may very well be the first game I play through all the way in Japanese then English when the PAL release turns up, not to mention spending a fortune to import #4 a couple of weeks later.

I still think it'll tank over here, or at least sell nowhere near as much as the fanboys would like, but I'll happily be proved wrong.

Finally completed my second playthrough of Mass Effect, so I moved on to Mass Effect 2 last night. My housemate warned me that I'd be hooked, but what I beginning to the game - hours flew by without me even realising.

Demon's Soul's - great stuff but solid in every way imaginable.

God of War - when DS get's tough stick on GoW for a bit of mindless slaughter. Suffice to say I've been playing this lots.

Mirror's Edge - nice straight forward gameplay. Feels like PoP without the fighting which is brilliant in my book. Adore the nice clear graphics and the pure gameplay. Not taking much notice of the plot though.

EA Sports Active : Wii I have just got to halfway through the 30day challenge, it has it's moments, but once I get the 30 day's done, I'll be putting in the More EA SA, cause this is starting to bore me to tears at times. I've done more Lunges on this than anything, and if there is one thing for certain, my legs dont need toning up!

Wii Fit Plus Not done this as much as above, just a few more odd games, while the balance board is class, alot of the activities dont actually burn many calories while doing them

Battlefield 1943 : XB360 Spent an hour on this today, and still think I'm rubbish, but so long as I dont end a round without a kill, that'll do for me. Was a machine gunner in a tank today for a my most successful spell. Also managed to launch two Air Raids for the first time ever, and got one kill, which is rubbish! Still a great game.

Diddy Kong Racing DS After my last spell with the game, was more than happy when opening up more races, the game was playing alot better and more tracks. Can be almost as bad with Rubber Band AI as some other racers, but is seeming a little more fun.

Flower : PS3 Bought this when it was on offer, not sure it quite would add up to all things gaming in my eyes. The first two levels have been fun enough, and the SIXAXIS control seems pretty decent. It looks good, though think I need to play it on my bigger tv to appreciate it more than I do

                  Battlefield 1943
Just done another hour or two. It's a fun distraction and like many have said, it undermines Bad Company 2's impending arrival a little.

                  Bioshock 2
A great game and though less of a 'horror' than the original it's got an involving tale and I'd be happy to take one more trip to Rapture this generation.

                  Alien Vs Predator
Just started this and it's okay but feels a bit... unfinished. I'm thinking it's one to hammer this week and trade in before it's value plummets.

I'm playing Bio Hazard 5 for the first time on the 360. I wasn't really in to it during the 1st chapter but soon found my place once chapter 2 had started. Currently up to Chapter 3 part 3 and loving it. Just one point that pisses me off and that the camera. To me it seems to be pointing up too much. I want to see the ground, not the bloody sky.

Been plowing back into Dragons Age: Origins again, after a week away from it, currently clocked up about 55 Hours! Where does the time go.......... I got so bored and frustarted with it during a long labourous chapter, but now that that is done and dusted, Ive made it to a new town which has revitalised me and Im really enjoying it again!

Hoping to get this done before Heavy Rain drops......

Bioshock 2 - finished it out of the way to trade it in as it was built on a good engine but a disappointment from the classic that was the original. Got the same back that i paid though so quite happy.

Mass Effect 2 - back to this now after a break for bioshock and really enjoying. Story is better than the original, gameplay seems a little more linear but also polished. Playing on hard mode first time through and really enjoying the balanced difficulty.

Splosion man - played a little more of this, really good fun, great level design, made me laugh out loud every couple of minutes. Not a big fan of marketplace but glad i picked this up for 400 points!

Playing a wee bit of Bioshock 2 multiplayer. Rough around the edges for sure. But maximum fun, and Rapture is proving a lovely environment to shoot folk in.

Also playing the original Bioshock. My third time through and enjoying it as much as before. I'm making an effort to explore every corner and managed to find a superb 'jump moment' that I'd not seen before. Awesome stuff. I'd say it's the best environment to explore in any game ever by miles times infinity . Great game.

I've been playing Mass Effect 2, incredible game. I'm a big fan of the original, but the sequel is many levels above the original. It eliminates the problems that the original had, namely the pointless buggy sections and cookie-cutter side missions, and expands on it's strengths. I don't really agree that the game is more linear - sure, there is an overarching narative, but you can undertake any portion of the game in any order you want, and there are plenty of 'unmarked' missions on planets for people who feel like exploring. The game also disproves the assumption that western RPG developers can't do characterisation. Excellent stuff.

I have Dragon Age: Origins installed and ready for me to play once I complete Mass Effect 2. Looking forward to it, but I don't feel compelled to rush through the game either, I intend to get as much enjoyment from the game as I can.

Bioshock 2 - more or less hate it. While the original Bioshock eventually grew on me I just can't get into this at all.

Saints Row 2 - put this on the other night and couldn't believe the graphics..compared to titles I've been playing recently it really does look awful. Switched off after 5 mins in disgust.

GoW 2 - finished GoW so started on GoW2. More of the same really. Might rest this for a bit and come back later.

Demon's Soul's - I should seriously love this game but it hasn't grown on me at all. The difficulty has completely put me off - couple of sessions ended with me making no progress what so ever. I simply don't have time to waste like that. Sold it.

Mirrors Edge - not played any more of this.

Heavy Rain - patch downloading as I type.

Bioshock PS3 and Metal Slug XX PSP.

Bioshock is amazing IMO. Only thing that is giving me difficulty is the Plasmids and Tonics descriptions are in Japanese, so I'm having to do a bit of trial and error with them. Just finished Cohen's Masterpiece, I'm also unlocking Trophies like they are going out of fashion.

Metal Slug XX is better than 4 and 5 IMO. I've even paid 200 Yen to D/L Leona. There are a bewildering number of extra missions to do, but I'm still trying to 1CC the game proper.
