I read it every day but their reviews often piss me off. They'll evangelise about a game and then give it 8/10.

And they killed their letters page for me when they split it into morning and afternoon updates. Nor do I read any of their features.

Other than that, I like it for catching up with any news I may have missed and the release dates every Thursday.

The BBC's Ceefax games review pages were a joke, little more than recycled advertising handout blurb which, being the BBC, I found bizarre. Its now gone but this does mean that regular games coverage on the BBC is now zero.

Gamecentral/Digitiser isn't perfect but it's in a completely different class and I've found their reviews generally reliable. Without them I certainly wouldn't have bought the wonderfully entertaining Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and several other games they've championed down the years.

It's good like but you just get the sneaky feeling that they have read the Edge reveiws before doing it themselves.

Also they waste a lot of the text space with stupid little phrases that people have sent in.

QFT, I'm a bit battered at the moment, and only just read it, but was a bit taken aback to see the Bournes described as personality-free.

If there's one thing those films are not, it's personality-free. With that European feel, it's at odds with the US-centric locale of most other actioners. Unique personality is something very strong in the Bourne series, it's what first drew me to the films and made them stand out from the LA/NYC etc-set films. If someone can find me another English-language action film with such a cosmopolitan feel then I'll take my hat off. Don't like the films, fine, but I reckon that description is way off the mark. They're hardly generic and reinvigorated a tired genre.

A rare lapse. Other than that I read it most days and generally respect the views of the editorial team, especially their bigging-up of EDF.

Yep, I've been reading it every morning since the Digitiser days & it's just become part of my daily routine. Get a cup of coffee, put on the TV & read GC.

Teletext is still going? How very British. I'd have thought digital / freeview / the series of tubes would have seen it to its death bed by now.

You can read it online - much easier than struggling with the old Teletext:

The people who whine about good, imaginative games (ie okami on wii the most recent expample) not selling annoy me though. just a waste of pixels when it could be used up for something better.

i'm another reaader with my morning espresso but not sure why I bother as its like reading the net on a 3 day time delay mostly.

the guy who writes it is on Games Night on xleague tv or whatever it is now, he's quite snotty an an arrogant little **** who seems to think his view is massively important.

lol I've always found Jenkins to be decent enough on the pages themselves. A load of people who write in are clearly retarded and need to be cussed bad.

Yes! Yes! Yes! - and Games TM. I used to read GamesTM and Edge cover to cover, and read GameCentral everyday. You are 100% right, I was going to write in and complain. Some of the reviews were exactly the same in content - but just in different words - obviously copied when you compared the reviews like for like. This annoys me because I want different people's opinions. This was why I respected Edge's Gunstar Heroes review and their GTAIII one (before they changed the score). I can absolutely see why some people wouldn't like these games (although I do)

Digistiser was the best. I liked 'The Man's' diary especially the one where he got a job at the local shopping centre and was cleaning the statues - it had absolutely nothing to do with videogames. Cyber-X (the videogame journalist with a 'life') was also good. I used to get up late (lazy) and read it, unfortunately while waiting for the pages to change - I had to watch Watercolour Challenge - I should of got up earlier!
