    Borderlands E3 2008 Gearbox FPS 360/PC/PS3

This game has been given a nice lenghty walkthrough BUT has been in development for a while now and was also shown behind closed doors at Leipzig 2007. Bit miffed there wasnt already a thread for this game as it sounds really cool and it is Gearbox developed too.
Half a Million unique weapons to create/collect in this game, 4 player co-op, different character classes and level up progression.
Hit the link for some videos of the presentation/walkthrough.

Following our flood of content from last week's E3 Media & Business Summit, we'll be highlighting noteworthy previews and features that may have gotten lost in the shuffle.

Some other press info not in the videos too...

Each gun is procedurally generated, with statistics such as firepower, reload speed and magazine size also randomized.

Weapon attributes are reflected in their appearance. A gun that glows green possesses face-melting poison.

Chest drops are totally randomized, just like in Diablo. The producers were constantly looking for better drops.

Skills are upgraded via software skill stations.

Skill category examples are Gear and Physique. Some examples of talents were increasing the number of grenades you can carry, or increasing your reload speed.

Proficiencies exist, such as "Assault Rifle proficiency," that are automatically upgraded in level.

Vehicle driving looked exaggerated for fun; the dune buggy shown was making huge jumps in the fashion of Halo or Battlefield.

All vehicles are designed with co-op in mind. Players can always trade places on the fly.

    Dynamic music system.

Dismemberment is off the charts--limbs and torsos soar through the
air, and explosions send enemies flying.

There are no longer half a million guns in the game; there are, in fact, 653,000 guns.

Looks very interesting, will definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Over half a million weapons, that is just crazy!

yeah, great footage. thanks for that. i hope the game gets a release date not too far away and also doesn't get postponed multiple times like BIA did already.

Just watched the videos. Doesn't look as good as promised, but as always with games like this its the depth of gameplay that shines through in the end.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but this is the game that had a trailer where the camera moved across a desolate landscape, zooming in closer to a woman; then panning around her when close to reveal a severely scarred face? I think I'm right on that one.

I remember thinking how sinister/evil it seemed.

Well, apparently now it's going to be cel-shaded. Now I know that doesn't immediately negate the possibility of it being dark and gritty, but it seems at odds with that trailer to me. :/

EDIT: Yep, it is the one I thought:

... although watching it again it doesn't seem quite so sinister as I remember.

I too am also liking this new style.

So much so that I've actually taken an interest in this game now (shallow, but there you go).

Possibly one of the most exciting shooters of the year [now that Rage has been put back to 2010 ] and now it's cell shaded , very awesome!

The whole open world, vehicle gang multiplayer, weapons made out of thousands of individual parts making for millions of possible guns aspects are what have me really interested though.

The art style gets my vote too and has perked my interest in the game. Reminds me of Prince Of Persia and Crackdown, the former looking great with that style.
