Games the missus can enjoy watching?

    Hey!

I regularly make my wife endure watching me play videogames if there's no "How clean is your property ladder relocation in the sun?" on the telly.

I'm currently playing GTA IV and the constant swearing just make me embarrassed because it fees like when kids swear to be cool, to be honest. I mean, even the DJs swear! Iggy Pop needs to wash his mouth out...

She enjoyed watching me play Bioshock as there was a little bit of plot to it and the art-deco setting was really involving.

Her hand/eye co-ordination isn't the best so she's not that keen to join in despite downloading the Katamari and Indy Lego demos for her to try.

Having said that, I bought her Big Brain Academy for her birthday and she rolled into bed at 1:30am!

So, are there any other recommendations of games that she might enjoy watching me play? Preferably not too gory (Ninja Gaiden 2 isn't going down well!) and not too crap - I've got to play it too!

Thanks, I look forward to hearing your suggestions!

Get that big gay shooter with the oiled up men. The japanese one. She'll love watching that.

Just get her a DS with Animal Crossing and she won't mind what you're playing.

Actually, my missus liked when I played Mario Galaxy, mostly because she liked the music (she doesn't like the scary/sci-fi/war stuff, you know, most games).

For some reason Mrs Peeveen has always enjoyed watching me play through TombRaider games. I can't think why, as she despises most videogames. Maybe she's got a bit of "girl love" in her ...

What about the Silent Hill, Siren or Project Zero games???

In my experience I actually prefered having someone watch me play them because they are so freaking scary lol
Good story & lots of jumps & puzzles she can help you with, plus like I said moral support for when things do get a bit too much lol

Or could try the Kingdom Hearts games...my Mrs loves watching them because of the Disney connection & also they look pretty for a PS2 title.

              Keep it clean, Vince!

Tomb Raider's a good suggestion, peeven. There's a good combination of plot and puzzling. Is Anniversary the remake of the first game? There's that and Legend I could try and they're both pretty cheap now.

              Any more?

If she liked Bioshock you should probably look at what she liked in that and go from there. Interesting world, narrative and some cerebral engagement.

                The Darkness?
                Mass Effect?
                Oblivion?
                Assassin's Creed?

Soundwave, your suggestions may be a bit too spooky. The sight of torch-lit demon babies roaming abandoned schools is the last thing you want to see before bed! I'll keep them in mind though, thanks.

Assassin's Creed is another good one, chopemon. Might give that a whirl, ta!

I never found Lara sexy when I played the original game on the PS1. She was like a big Swiss Army Knife to me where you had to use her different actions to solve the puzzles. Besides, her boobs were so pointy, they'd have had your eyes out...

Yeah might be a bit nasty before bed to be honest, but that what makes them so fun

What about Eternal Sonata or Blue Dragon on 360??
                      Blue Dragon is great.

Another vote for Assasins creed as well.

My brother reckons Lost Odyssey is good to so maybe that one as well??

I fear Blue Dragon might be a bit "kiddy" for her and a bit long for me, Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect are a bit too Sci-Fi and Oblivion is a little too LOTR!

Thinking about it, Bully might be a good choice because it's like GTA but without the excessive swearing. I mean, come on, it's practically Harry Potter...

You guys are teh luckies!! My Mrs. hates games, hates them I tells ye!
Being that I have the PS3 in the lounge (which I somehow managed by convincing her that it was great due to movies, music and photo storage through the plasma.) I haven't been able to play a game in ages now. My MGS4 is still sitting sealed after all. She did go so far as to turn one of the spare bedrooms into a games room for me, but alas I only have two PS2s in there, and only one of them is hooked up to a TV, which is a CRT so I tend to not even go into that room
My gaming has suffered heavily of late, and I almost thought about offloading my entire collection t'other day. I guess I could sit up late at night and play once she has gone to bed, but that's not really my thing.

I'll think of sommat, maybe, I hope.
                          Kept you waiting, huh?

"Chou aniki" is the shooter (series) you're thinking of.

Get her to play Mario Galaxy with you and let her pick up the star pieces. Kept my missus well entertained...though she also forbade me playing it without her.

As soon as my girlfriend got up on Galaxy I was relegated to collecting the stars
