What games beside SC2 have Namco done this generation? I can't think of much.

        I don't even like SC.

As for Capcom, they have their up periods - they have their down periods. I used to praise SFII until I bought an AES. Now the only game that still pleases me to this day is SSFIIX and 3rd Strike if you're playing casually with friends.

Biohazard was great - but it peaked at episode 2 IMO. After that it was always the same ****, over and over. No matter how many characters you operate at once.

PN.0.3 is ok, but I certainly won't be returning next year say - a couple of finishes is all this game warrants, thankfully, it's quite difficult. I've yet to play VJ as I'm still squeezing drops out of F-Zero.

Everything else they've ever done isn't worth mentioning IMO. Apart from Area 88 and Final Fight of course.

Early nineties Capcom were the best - It feels like they've lost 90% of the staff and 95% of the passion since the golden era.

I think that was more down to Virgin/Eidos who were publishin/distributin Capcom's games in Europe though Eidos didn't implement 60hz in some games, namely Code Veronica and PowerStone.

I like a few of Capcoms game but I've never been that into beat em ups or Survival horror games so most of their recent stuff has been lost on me. Chaos Legion, takin one hell of a slating I thought it was great fun though, I don't think they're any worse, or any better than anyone else but they're no where near the standards of Acclaim or THQ yet

Endlee How are Onimusha 2 and DMC 2 Pal versions inferior to the NTSC versions since they have 60hz options?

I agree with some people that capcom and namco especially are going down hill but nothing could compare with the crap that Konami released when the SNES died.

Konami's PSone games where nearly all slated apart from the odd foot ball game and metal gear solid of course.

I remeber a time when all you needed to do was look at the box and if it said Konami or Capcom on it you knew you were in for a treat.

I hope the days when IMO Konami and capcom were the best developers on the planet, come again

What really annoys me about Capcom is the RE ports on the cube. They didn't touch them up they didn't do anything but ask for 50.00 for them. RE is one series I really don't like.

I really enjoyed PN3 and almost broke my controller over Viewtiful Joe's toughness. Still I think Capcom is ok, they just need to stop feeding Mikami's ego.

Mikami thinx Sony is Teh Devil1!1!!1!

Chaos legion looks good. I'll give them a chance.

Unfortunately 'looks good' does not equal 'plays good'.

I reckon VJ will make it into a Street Fighter at some point soon I would imagine - that would be cool yeah?

At least they're contantly making new franchises! If you're going to take such a risky approach, there's bound to be some things that don't work out. What other Japanese companies, besides Sega when the Dreamcast was alive, have made so many original franchises?

                      Devil May Cry
                      Onimusha
                      Chaos Legion
                      Powerstone
                      Megaman Battle Network
                      Heavy Metal
                      PNO3
                      Viewtiful Joe
                      Tekki

                      etc...

For me, Capcom usually, though not always, is stongest when it tries something new. Viewtiful Joe is the perfect example of that. True, they then tend to make upto Viewtiful Joe 8 but then they go and make something else that stands out. They do produce games that I don't like but, what company doesn't? In context of the industry and its rivals Capcom has to at least be in the Top 5 if not Top 3 developers out there still to this day.

                        Series That I Like:

Megaman-Not so much made anymore but still cherished
Megaman X-Mainly coz its like the original series
Megaman Battle Network-Took a new direction and carried it off well
                        Viewtiful Joe-Nuff said 8)
Street Fighter-Over pimped in the past but now sorely missed
                        Maximo-Purist platforming
Marvel Vs Capcom-A joy once used to the different style
Breath Of Fire-Especially Dragon Quarters new stylings

                        Series That I Don't Like:

Capcom Vs SNK-Close to the knuckle, I like the play style but I can't forgive the poor representation it has of its franchise heritage
Resident Evil-Used to like it, adored Code Veronica, but its just too damn lazy a series now, Capcom has let the rust set in too much
Product Number 03-Just doesn't work for me
                        Dino Crisis-Again, loved 1, liked 2, disappointed by 3
Devil May Cry-2 was a disaster and I found DMC1 to be a shallow and repetitive letdown
Onimusha-there are some things I like about it but it suffers from the same old problems as Resi

So it is a mixed bag but thats how I call Capcoms cards
