Co-op Racers?

Can anyone think of any co-op racing games available anywhere?

I'm thinking Nintendo (who are so obviously out of innovative ideas these days) have pretty much come up with concept themselves with Mario Kart DD (which according to latest reports allows 16 players - Which must mean 2 players controlling 1 kart).

XG3 did 2 player co-op, which should be in ALL games

sorry 2 player co-op championship, so did the SanFrancisco Rush series, it basically makes the game.

I can only think of one - Circus Maximus. It's a chariot racer. From what I understand, one player controls the chariot, and the other whacks at opponents with a weapon.

It has been released on XBox and PS2.

Plus, of course, there are the likes of Starsky & Hutch and its various arcade predecessors, where you have one player driving and one shooting.

There was a top-down game on the Amstrad in which one person controlled a tank (or something) and the other controlled the turret and you had to go around a track to the finish.

Silk Worm - one controlling the chopper, one the jeep. Ok, so not really a driving game, but bloody brilliant all the same!

Class! S.W.I.V. was the same, only nowhere near as good... shooter though, doesn't count

World Scariest Police Chases has a good co-op mode, with one player shooting while the other drives... ring any bells? Something else I played recently though has a co-op, a racer... can't remember what it is at the minute, although I'm pretty sure it was on the XBox (not Moto GP).

I know what it was and it wasn't on the XBox either - it was Tube Slider on the Gamecube

The controller share options on Micro Machines (unsure which one had it first though).

that game is/was ****ing excellent, nothing quite like driving through a supermarket, people scattering whilst you lay waste to the bad guys.
