    Is the PSN down?

I could connect fine last night but today I can't connect at all, and it's giving me this error code: (80710092).

I heard they were having problems yesterday, so I'm hoping this is at their end.

Seems fine for me. I've been logged-in for a few hours.

I was on LBP Beta from about 2-4 last night, no problems then just today.

Just done a internet connection test, gives me an IP but fails at internet connection. It's connected to my router- it says 100% strength, so that's not the problem.

            I don't see what's changed from last night ?

              Tried power-cycling your router?

Tried what? I've just assigned all of the UDP/TCP ports it's asked. I've also assigned it a static IP address, no change. Tried turning both off and on as well. No problems connecting anything else, 360, mac, wii etc.

Power Cycle = posh name for that.

                  uh, hmm.

I'm out of ideas but I'd try it wired just in case.

Just updated my firmware on my router- nope, still not working.

Just plugged a Ethernet cable in- nope not working.

                    Full status code is:

"The connection to the server timed out. (80710092)"

                    EDIT:

It's actually connecting to the internet fine- the web browser is working. Just not PSN

it might be your ISP's DNS server not resolving a host, (apparently), try some different ones, and see if it works, also, disable auto-sign in and try signing in manually. I'd bet its the DNS issue though , this would be why it doesn't 'suddenly' work.

The guy there said it just worked again a couple of days later, so I'd definitely expect it to be an ISP/DNS problem. You could always do a manual configuration and specify a different DNS server to avoid changing it on your router.

Downloading a Firmware update for the PS3 atm to see if it's that. Doubt it though. I'll have a look at your suggestions.

It worked (opendns). It's now saying ive got NAT type 2.

Also seems to be downloading things a lot quicker.

Thanks! But how come the 360 etc work and this doesn't. Picky!

because the PSN host would be a different one to the 360 live hosts, and maybe your ISP's DNS server has a corrupt record for the PSN host (or something).

NAT2 is preferrable over NAT3 for gaming etc, so you should keep it like this for a while I guess.

NAT2 would probably be because of you opening the correct ports/forwarding them etc, not because of a DNS server change. hehe
