Video Games Live 2008 - not quite what you expect

Click the link, bit hard to describe, sounds like video games (soundtracks ?) played by a live orchestra. Don't remember reading anything about it before but was apparently a sell out last year. The interactivity bit is throwing me somewhat.

I went to last years one, it was really good. I don't think I'll go to this one though, as tempting as it is, because every concert seems to be identical (watching other clips on YouTube). Still, definitely check it out if you can.

They do change the setlist a bit from year to year. Last year they played some stuff from Bioshock which (for obvious reasons) wasn't in the show the year before it.

It'll be the third time in two years. I always well up a bit during the MGS stuff.

The interactive stuff is where someone from the audience plays a game on a big screen while the orchestra provides the music and sfx dynamically in accordance with the player's actions.

When I saw it they did it with Frogger but I could easily see it working with Dig Dug too.

They did Space Invaders when I went, it was brilliant

I've got tickets this year since my friend said it was so good last year. I'm really excited for it and probably going to the media expo in the excel for a bit of Street Fighter 4 the next day so it'll be the geekiest weekend i've had.

Well, I went and I loved it - I'd definitely take a video camera if I were you. I took some videos on my phone but predictably they didn't come out well.

I was totally elated afterwards.
