    Alternatives to Wave Race

I love Wave Race - well, the first one, anyway - but I've played it to death now, and I didn't like Blue Storm at all.

Are there any other decent jet-ski racers (retro or modern)? Apart from Game Boy Wave Race, of course.

Not on nintendo systems i dont think there is, i know wii sports 2 has a jet ski section in it, not sure if theres any more out for nintendo stuff though. I liked blue storm, sure it wasnt as controllable as the n64 version but it was pretty good.

Off the top of my head I'm not sure what these games are like, but for the prices they're probably worth a punt if you're desperate for Jet Ski games

There was a game on the psone. It was called Jet-Moto i think. Correct me if i'm wrong but my memory is cloudy. I remember liking it when i rented it out back in the day.

Off the top of my head, the only game to come close to Wave Race 64 is Namco's Aqua Jet in the arcades, but that's a bit prohibitively expensive for a home user

Sadly, Wave Race 64 is still the absolute apex of the genre.

How disappointing was Blue Storm? It was horrible.

I agree. It lost all the charm of the original.

I bought it and played it for, ooh, six minutes? Straight back for a refund. Really stiff handling, boring courses, nondescript characters.

Did Nintendo whore the development out the Namco (like Starfox Adventures), or am I making that up?

SO why do people hate Waverace Blue Storm ? I got Waverace 64. Not played it much due to be HDTV tart.

i like it - i've never had the UK version but it seems its another title that suffers from being 'UK'

When you get control of the weather some of the storm effects are very very impressive and it adds another dimension to the game

there is a Jet-ski game on the PSone, but its pretty poor

Carve on Xbox was pretty damn good - shame it wasn't given much of a chance.

Excellent - thanks. Think I'll look for the Splashdown games and that Dreamcast one.
