Silent Hill 2 Question

I've finally started getting into the Silent Hill series, I'm playing Silent Hill 1 on my US PS3 and loving it, and am looking to get the sequel lined up for when I finish this. However, I am aware there is an original version, and a 'directors cut' of sorts.

Was the enhanced version released on the US PS2? If so, I assume it has a subtitle to differenciate itself from the standard edition?

Was there a 'Silent Hill Collection' released in the US (like the UK a while back)? This would make the hunt easier.

It could be easier to just buy the PC version, but I'd not like to guess how well such an old game would perform.

The Greatest Hits US release contains the extra content - the Restless Dreams extra story bit & so on.

^So just go for Greatest Hits? Great Mind you, the usual places (VG+, Tronix etc.) seem to lack the game, so I'll have to do some begging in the Wanted Forum at some point.

James's left leg disappears and reappears approximately once a second when played on PS3 Jake. I'm playing at the moment and finding it more and more annoying actually which is a shame. I found it amusing at first.

Possibly not an issue on an original US PS3 with the hardware emulation though, dunno.
