Best 360 offers?

Hiya,

My sister's hoping to buy her husband a 360 for Christmas.

I've been doing a bit of webmooching and I'll hit the shops at lunch to see what offers are available, but what offers have you lot seen on your travels?

I'm after a 360 premium (they're all HDMI now aren't they?) and maybe one game with it.

Preferably not something naff like Marcus Fenix Karting or Master Chief Paint...

Went into GameStation with bro to get him a 360 on saturday. Picked up a 60GB console bundle with Gears 1, Gears 2 and Fallout 3 for 200 quid. If you wanna pay less a lot of places will give you 1 decent game for free for the standard £170 60GB pro asking price.

Might be an ides to pick up a tabloid tomorrow a.m. Last Fridays Sun was littered with gears of war game offers and a couple of very good 360 ones too. The one mentioned above was in it but there was another from Blockbusters for a 60GB 360 with Fifa 09, Dead Space, ?20 worth of rental discount vouchers (q handy) for ?169!! Blooming bargain even and had me rtempted to grab one for my bedroom!!

That pretty much is the best deal I have seen. 60GB 360, Gears of War, Gears of War 2 plus one from FIFA 09, Fallout 3 and Fable 2 for ?199.99. Also if you don't want the extra game you can go for an official wireless control pad instead.

The one we're going for though is:

Blooming 'eck that's one hell of a deal. I feel the need for a 2nd 360 to stick in my bedroom so I reckon that's the deal I'm going to go for. They even do you a ?10 voucher if you spend over ?100 so in effect it's only ?159!!

That Argos offer was a late winner!

I know the games aren't the perfect choice, but 4 games and a 2nd pad for free was an opportunity not to be missed.

I tried Walsall's Argos but they're out-of-stock so my sister is going to Sutton Coldfield to pick it up.

That Hotdeals site is good too. Play.com have some wireless headphones for £18 that look good. I guess this site is why Asda had no copies of Call of Duty 5 on the shelves last weekend!

Remember the Gears 2 deal is pretty good at Currys, Fable 2 or Fallout 3 free at Gameplay.co.uk and Fable 2 for £10 on Amazon.

Anyone know of the best deals for an elite? I need to track one down for my dad to buy me for christmas to replace my now dead launch premium.

I've tried Game and Gamestation in store so far with the latter providing the best deals - one with Fable 2 and either Fallout or Fifa (I already own the first two and have no interest in Fifa so would be trading the games in) or there's one which comes with 3 selected games (PGR4, Sega Tennis, one other and one you choose from a list of their el cheapo range) both for £229. Only problem with Gamestation though, is that I heard one of the shop assistants behind the counter explaining to some old woman buying one that within the 12 month store warranty, they no longer replace them, instead telling her that they now go straight back to MS, which I would have assumed was BS but then I wouldn't know.

I wouldn't worry, you wouldn't have stood much of a chance in getting it anyway.

I know someone who's after a 360 pack for some relations this Xmas. They're kids too so the pack would have been right up their street. Pointed them in the direction of the deal and the Argos site was showing it was out of stock locally but you could still order online and get it delivered within two days.

They went through the whole order process, only to have an email 10 minutes later saying it was out of stock and they'd drop them an email when there were more in stock so they could re-order (you can guess what's coming next).

Email turns up this morning and the deals been retracted. You can still get the Premium 60GB pack with the two games and extra pad, but it's just shy of ?199 now.

Bit of a crappy practice on their part as they should have pulled the deal if they didn't want to sell it any more. Or honoured it when the order was placed when it was still on and they just had to assemble the stock.
