How does the new PS PC/PSP store work?

I haven't used the PC version of the PS Store in a while and, going there today, it told me my old account is invalid and I need to transfer account info. But, when trying to do that, it says my old username and pass are wrong, which they aren't. And even trying to look at a game on the store tells me that I have to have Media Manager 3 installed on both my PC and PSP to see them. That can't be right, is it?

Have they turned something that works to something that requires me to jump through hoops to buy a game?

I'm afraid that is right, you need to have MM3 installed (And the PSP connected in order to launch it at all) in order to access the PSP store from your PC. I guess because it's directly accessible from the PSP now.

Gah, kind of nuts. I ended up what I wanted from the PS3 version of the store. I got Locoroco 2 and... it doesn't work with my firmware. Need to see if there's an update.

Crazy to think it would be easier to google a rapidshare link and just download an illegal version.

You know Locoroco 2 is £12.99 online at the moment?

Ah, it was an impulse PSN buy. Sort of. I mean, it would have been if I didn't have the purchasing issue. My need for instant gratification bit me in the ass.

I don't get the people who buy stuff like 'burnout paradise' off the PSN store for £24.99 when its way less than that used. bizarre.

It's actually less than that new.

I personally would pay a little extra for certain games for the convenience of launching them from the HDD.

Yeah, it's just convenience. Even with the purchasing. A Sunday afternoon, the hankering for a new game, no desire to go anywhere. That's when the PSN or LIVE thingy are just lovely. Well, when they make it easy.
