Gamestation Price Match

Hoping to trade a few items at Gamestation and have them pricematch Cex.Does the cex store need to be within a certain distance or should everything be fine.I plan to print off the prices from cex as proof as no doubt they will be required.

And they'll tell you that that's just a tag line and doesn't actually mean that they'll beat any price. That's what the muppet in Cardiff GS told me. They refused to price match on wii fit saying that it was at manager's discretion.

Basically, they will price match unless it's more than they want to pay, then they won't. It's genius, it really is.

My local GS would match Game's trade in price and that was it - and then you needed a printed receipt from Game to confirm what they'd offered.

I did this when trading in a gta4 it may still work.

if there is say a cex 30 miles away there will be a gamestation within 10 miles (my example was in newcastle) i said

well the GS in newcastle will match cex (28miles)
the comet at x will match that GS (18miles)
Currys at X wll match the comet (8miles)
the currys is less than ten miles so im not breaking your rules gimmie my price match

My local one does match CEX but you need a print out of the prices as their computer cannot access the CEX website.

Enfield gamestation matched the CEX over the road on my word alone, actually even beat them by a pound !

Well it turned out that they refused to price match.Despite the fact that the wont be beaten on trade advertising doesn't say that there are t & c's the staff couldn't tell me or show me the terms and conditions.


Although an indy shop very near by surprisingly did agree to price match so not a wasted journey.

Strange that. They don't usually refuse you unless you are matching something like Wii Fit or something that CEX give a stupid price for.

Ask for a copy of their T&C with price matching and if you can take a photo of it in the window etc... as if their misleading then they can be done by advertising agency or OFT. If they refuse to give you the T&C shop em lol

The T&C's only state that the manager can limit the number of trade-ins (multiple copies of one game), the last time I checked. Who knows, might have changed now!
