    But Neko, that money is net profit (i.e after tax), so when a company makes $4bn in a quarter, whilst you're right that it could be earmarked for other projects, but generally no big organisation that makes that sort of money runs their business in the manner that all projected (and actual) profit is already assigned. Big companies build cash reserves with their profits as well as investing in new projects.

      big companies like MS who have limited share price movement also use the cash to provide extraordinary dividend payouts to the shareholders to at least give them some return.
