i didnt use a guide so the first time i attempted it i only just made it past the 5 day mark and there was no food left in the mall - still havent looked in a guide and i suppose i wasted soem food items, but not enough to last 2 days (game time)

if you smash a boss he will drop all the big food items like steaks and you can eat one and stand around for it to go to 1 health bar and eat another

somebody in Japan has managed 17 days or so which is around 36 hours of constant play

just silly really and to be honest the fact that your health depletes without injury there are easier bosses to fight rather than the convicts, i know they are easy but spurious things happen to them and if i had just played it for 12 hours non stop and got run over through something silly, i would have a smashed telly and a smashed Xbox

I was always in the arcades either in Manchester or Stockport when i was growing up so most of mine are arcade games

Greatest achievement was getting the world record on Outrun on a college trip to manchester in about '87. C&VG sent me a certificate and printed my name in a little book with loads of other people from around the world with their scores on other games (still got them somewhere). It probably wasn't the WR but it was a mega high score and an absolutely flawless run. I never bettered it anyway and it was great to get my name saying it was mine, lol.

      Other mentions (Arcade):

Bubble Bobble 1 Credit My second greatest achievement. Caned this for about 18 months with a mate learning all the secrets and level jumps.

      Robocop 1 Credit/Life
      Wardner 1 Credit/Life
      Strider 1 Credit/Life
      New Zealand Story 1 credit/Life
Got to level 91 on Gauntlet 2 and ran out of 10ps
      Gunsmoke 1 credit/Life
Double Dragon 1 Credit/Life Elbow Elbow Elbow lol
      R-Type 1 Credit/Life
Rastan Saga 1 credit (Didn't do this on one life though if remember)
Shinobi Finished with a couple of contiues i think. Last boss was a twat as someone said

They are the ones i remember but there are probably more as i was always in the arcade instead of college or Uni. Civil Engineering was a boring course

      Home systems:

Ghouls and Ghosts on the SNES
Was Elite on the BBC when i was about 12
Finished all Zeldas other than TP
Was a member of a CS Clan that was ranked in the top ten (not sure if it was worldwide) in the old Wireplay league almost 10 years ago. Long before WoW sucked my life away
Had a really quick time on the first course in Wave Race 64 time trial. It was faster than the top time which was in Super Play at that time, but i never submitted it. I think there were discrepencies with NTSC times against PAL
World number 1 in Virtua Tennis 3 with all mini games maxed and all gold medals attained
      Gradius 3 (SNES) 1 Credit
Smash TV with my dad of all people (SNES) 1 Credit
Finished Planescape Torment which was an amazing game and i never thought i would get there
      Halo on legendary

I have noticed as i have got older that i just don't finish games any more though and i don't know why. Too much choice maybe, i dunno.

the NTSC times were much faster then the PAL times... but you still have it ? I would love to compare some of the times as I know I put many hours competing with a friend of mine for the fastest times back then. I played it on a US N64 with the fat guy.. what a great game it is !

years since i've played it. Still got it somewhere tho with my US 64. I always remember on that loop track that the cornering was key tight to the bouys, if you nailed it you were there.

Also, it was a much better game than the GC version although i like that as well

I (and Commander Marklar) did pretty well in the R:Racing Evolution rankings. The GC force wheel really helped me get some smooth lines with this game

Since this thread has been resuscitated I might as well mention that I'm pretty chuffed at myself for getting the defeated in under 60 / 90 seconds achievements for the heavy & the ATACS in Killzone 2.

I always think of myself as someone who sucks at games, and I definitely take about twice as long to complete games than many people I see on here. So in this case I find the word "achievement" is quite appropriate for me.

I was initially quite pissed off on encountering the ATACS aircraft in Killzone 2, as it seemed impossible. I'm not really a fan of boss levels - if I find them too hard then I tend to consider them a barrier to game progression. In this case I didn't realise I was carrying the revolver - I was trying to use the wrong button to switch weapon - and after running out of missiles on my first attempt I was trying to shoot the electro-thingies out with the assault rife or SMG and then find the rocket launcher and swap weapons in time to shoot the aircraft. Needless to say this was not going well, and on at least one playthrough I couldn't get it to come within range of the electric field at all. I think that finally I gave up trying to swap weapons and just shot the conductors out with the rockt launcher, and then I found that if you shoot the ATACS whilst it's trapped then it stays trapped a bit longer - anyway, 3 missiles in quick succession and it was done for.

Considering previous boss levels that I've found unfinishable I wasn't actually stuck on this one for very long, but in my frustration it seemed like it!
