I don't really get the whole PSP emulation thing. I find the SNES emulator better on my DS, at least for SFII which was the first thing I tried, and when I tried the Amiga emulator for Sensible Soccer, it was too jerky to be playable.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe it's good for the more esotoric systems that I've never gotten into e.g. Neo Geo, PC Engine.
(In edit: I have a PSP-2000.)Last edited by topper; 26-01-2009, 16:31.

You are not alone in trying to find the Dingoo Digital A-320!! The GB Micro is my favorite handheld and the prospect of a uber micro is just too much to miss.
Could still be the Wiz for me, but for the price (About 50 quid I think) the A-320 looks spot on.
Media playback even looks good:

the psp slim is the daddy for emulation in my opinion. i have most of the emulators on it and they work brilliantly with the exception of the snes which is a massive shame. i'd love a full speed snes emu so much...
The emu's that i'm most impressed with are the gameboy advance because it makes the games look a million times better due to the larger size and the MVS because that also looks brilliant and runs like a dream. psx also looks great and is just the right resolution and screen size to make the games still look good.
gameboy, megadrive, neogeo pocket, nes are all brilliant too.

Ah, that would explain. I don't own any Neo Geo, Mega Drive, PS1 stuff, and I don't emulate software that I don't own. GBA and Gameboy may well be good, but I have the handhelds anyway, and I enjoy them. I could try the NES emu I suppose.
I've had Mega Drives and PS1s come and go, but I don't think I'll go back there. Well, not with the weak pound anyway.
Boxhead - have you tried PSPUAE and if so what did you think?

SNES emulation is always a problem in my experiences, I wouldn't say the SNES emu for PSP is 'great', but then thats why I'll always own a real snes. hee

In my case specifically, emulation has been a lifesaver for me because I'm in university with a laptop, no TV and no consoles, yet I can still play my games. I can even play most of my PS2 games on here using PCSX2. No extra hardware to drag up here, no TV, no TV licence, and in the specific case of a laptop, I can bring my laptop to friend's places and play there too.
Besides, I'm one who feels the thrill about playing software on the 'orginal hardware' is largely psychological, especially if the emulation is near enough perfect.
