The 'Rock Band/GH wish list' thread.

What song/s would you love to be released as download content for Rock Band or GHWT?

Personally i'd give a kidney for some Mother Love Bone - This Is Shangrila or Stardog Champion would be ace for some Andrew Wood frontroom drunken showmanship

The gods heeded my call for Corrosion Of Conformity's Albatross (on GH Metallica) and even Kent on GHWT so who knows...

What would you pick and why?

    Last Resort - Papa Roach
    The Offspring - Million Miles
The Offspring - The Kids Ar'nt Allright
    Muse - Plug In Baby
    Hoobastank - The Reason
    Good Charlotte - The River

All the tracks that spring to mind to me. But there is 100s more.

Stuff I've wanted since hearing about Rock band:
Daft punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger
Daft Punk - One more time
Daft Punk - Digital Love (although would be boring for vocals after the inital few lines)

      Others I'd love to see:
      Adrenaline - Gavin Rossdale
In this City - Iglu & Hartly
      Don't stop believing - Journey

      For a laugh:
Safety Dance - Men without hats
      Bannanaphone - Raffi

Some Queen would be good. Some of Brian May's guitar riffs are amazing!!

Some Audioslave and more Rage too would be appreciated.

Agree with that. 'Know your enemy' and 'Show me how to live' would be my picks

'Set It Off' from Audioslaves' first album would bring my living room walls crashing down around me!!

I'v been thinking how much I'd enjoy some Rammstein. I rekon I could take a good stab at the vocals phoneticly, and the riffs would be amazing. That is one band I WOULD buy an entire album of downloadable content for.

Here's my choices. All from the late seventies:

                    Television - Marquee Moon

Forget the usual suspects, this is my favourite 'guitar' album ever. It would only work in RB if the bass player was replaced with rythmn guitar (like in the earlier GH games). This album is essential because of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd playing off each other, but the songs. Jesus how good are the eight songs....

                    Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Closer wouldn't work because it's mainly synth based, but Unknown Pleasures would be amazing. Imo Stephen Morris is the best drummer ever, but most people don't know that because they think New Order used only drum machines (which is why Morris is sometimes called the Human Drum Machine - those drum breaks in Blue Monday are Morris playing real drums). And then you've got Ian Curtis' voice and lyrics.

But the best bit would be the reversal of bass and guitar. Sumners guitars are all about layers and scrawling textures whilst the melody is carried by Hooky's bass. A bit like....

Public Image Ltd - Metal Box

Which does the bass/guitar swap thing even better. Brilliant for mixing it up a bit. Personally I'd have the single version of Death Disco rather than the album version (renamed Swan lake) because of Keith Levine's astonishing guitar work. Possibly the best guitar in a song ever - and still sounds like nothing else ever recorded.

                    Chic - Best of Chic

Yeah it's disco not rock, but Nile Rodgers rhythm guitar and Tony Thompson's drums are exquisite. Partner that with delicious female vocals and the fact that Bernard Edwards is the greatest bass player ever. No question.

Forget Queen's Another One Bites the Dust. Listen to Good Times and hear where they ripped off the master.

The Rezillos - Can't Stand the Rezillos

Super fast speed pop punk. Not as well known as many punk bands, but their one album is amongst the best. Fun, full and fast. J Mascis said their bass player (the brilliantly named William Mysterious) was probably the best bass player in rock ever. And he's probably right. But Eugene Reynolds, and Jo Callis aren't far behind. Plus I want to sing Glad All Over in a thick Edinburgh accent, just like the hypnotic Fay Fife.

Great song, but not much for the vocalist to do. Surely a RB song has to work with all four instruments, not just the guitar?

I don't see why Rock Band should be limited to songs that cater for every instrument, YYZ and Caprici di Diablo being available shows that Harmonix are willing to throw in instrumental tracks.

Actually I'd settle for more Motley Crue, RATT some Poison and more Megadeth. Throw in some Queen and I'd be set.
