I pretty much never play multiplayer games, unless you count Smash Bros Brawl with my flatmates. I was big into Ridge Racer 6 on Live and used to play it regularly, but then everyone except the Japanese elite stopped playing, so I did too.

I like gaming to be relaxed & fun & I do think I might find the online side a little too competative & I'd hate to feel that I'd be holding a Team back if I was playing & not upto their level of skill...especially in Team based games like L4D or CoD

I guess to me the whole online thing seems a little intimidating maybe??

Some games are worse than others though, Gears and COD are popular because most people can log on and get the satisfaction of a few kills, if you want to play more seriously you can do.
Halo 3 is a bit more demanding to play but Bungie created a ranking/leveling up system so you are playing against people of a similar skill level to you so on the most part you can have some enjoyable games.

(offtopic): been trying to buy Space Giraffe for PC off Llamasoft website for past 2 weeks but shop area remains down...are they still trading?!

Might sound like a stupid question but it just dawned on me that in the 2 & 1/2 years I've owned my 360 I have never ever played a multiplayer game on Live...not a single one.

So am I the only sad sack on this here forum that's never expereinced the thrill of playing online against someone else??

I've regularly played online on the PC (Counterstrike/UT/Doom/COD etc.) but never on a console.

Thing is I've never really been that fussed about the whole Live experience I'm quit happy muddlying through games on my tod or with my bro in the flat.
So am I weird for not playing on live or are there others that still havent joined this supposed online revolution??

I assume as stated they are waiting for the Paypal account to be reactivated. If you go over a certain amount taken in, then you get the bull**** about anti-laundering checks and the need to link a bank account to the profile and other stuff to prove you are "okay". Maybe that's what's happened? I was going to ask if you posted on the Support forum over there, but I checked and saw you had...

              Thanks for explanation Mayhem.

I am probably a bit over-concerned/paranoid re. the mighty Llamasoft, whom I love, hence my posting my worries everywhere I can...(not least llamasoft.com!)...

Sorry for temporarily diverting topic, peeps...

Hey Soundwave! I like Transformers and M.A.S.K. so come do some co-op with me!

I agree with your sentiments of avoiding paying full-whack for games but fear missing the boat and by the time you get to play something, either nobody's playing it or only the elite are left.

That's why I've never played Halo 3 multiplayer and barely touched CoD4. I used to think I was good at games then Live comprehensively showed me that I'm rrrrubbish!

What I do love, however, is co-op. Looking after your friends' backs in Left 4 Dead, co-ordinating pincer movements in Rainbow 6 Vegas, caning around in a warthog together in Halo 3, taking out all the perps in GRAW and so on.

Why not pick up Left 4 Dead now that it's dropped to ?25 on Play.com, Gamestation and a few others?

If you can find some like-minded gamers, you'll have a whale of a time. Don't worry about holding people back because for every time you get jumped on by a hunter, you'll save their ass from a smoker's tongue! It's you Vs. the AI director and it's really clever because if you're struggling, it keeps it exciting but doesn't make 5 tanks appear.

I've found myself popping on the 360 using the remote juuuust in case some friends are on playing it...

My friends and I have just being playing through Vegas 1, which was picked up for about ?8. Co-op story and Terrorist Hunts have great replayability and it's great fun synchronising your attacks.
Oh, and don't forget Bauer rules(TM)! Last man standing has to switch to pistol only! Great to watch and play.

We've all started picking up GRAW 2. ?5 from Zavvi, HMV (2nd hand) and Amazon are some of the places we've got it from and we're going to start working our way through the co-op levels and then buy the co-op download packs and do them.

If you'd like to join us, come find me on Live, sir. (QualityChimp).

Since getting my 360 before xmas I have played Halo 3 online for about 10 minutes and that's it. I played the original XBox online loads, Halo 2, rainbow, Steel battalion, GR:IT etc. but now very rarely. I play Socom once or twice a week on the pS3 still but that's it.

Got my Xbox just after Xmas and have only been online to play some co-op on Resi 5 demo which was pretty mint. Anyone fancy some co-op on the original Gears of War next week? Just started on that and it is pretty mint, would love a run through on a higher difficulty with someone holding my hand so to speak!

I've never played any of them. The sort of online gaming referred to here became popular just as I got disillusioned with gaming and did other things for a few years. I missed the whole buzz, and I'm not going to get into it now. Also, I don't really do FPSs.

Not alone at all. When I got my 360 I hadn't played online on PS2, X-box (never owned one) or PC, so I used my free month's trial to see what RR6 was like, and never went back on line afterwards. Last year I had to get the RROD repaired, and it came with a free XBL month. I should have given it away on here, but foolishly I thought I'd see if anyone was up for some coop Double Dragon or Golden Axe to get those last achievements. Nobody was, so it expired without ever being used.

I much prefer the solo experience anyway. Although I quite enjoyed Mario Kart online this time last year.
