That said, it'll almost certainly be a must-have for DS Phat owners, obviously. In fact, GAME will be offering DS Phat/Lite, Xbox 360, PSP & Wii owners the opportunity to trade their consoles in and receive a DSi for half-price.

That'll be a mis-print or mis-read, the offer only applies to the DS Lite not the Original DS, still ?75 for a DS Lite I paid ?89.99 for over 2 years ago is a definate upgrade for me

I have one of the US Bright Red and Silver Mario Kart DS's for any non-compatable DS games, I also have a couple of Micro's and a red SP too so for me it's all positives for the DSi.

It's possible Nintendo have set that aside for just the browser and games that use the camera and need the cpu boost. However Nintendo did strict developers to just the main CPU for a while and blocked out the double speed GBA one. It was Squeenix who first got them to enable access to it (hence why their games looked head and shoulders above others at the time)

The DSi will still have that horribly low polygon limit and no real texture filtering even if it is used in general games.

Nintendo Europe have come out and said you should order one now if you want it for xmas...

Sad thing is, they're probably right. The DS Lite was in short supply over christmas outside of rip off bundles.
