Games that need trophies?

I'm hoping we'll get a new MNG game announced soon. Like the first, but I want it to have the same overwhelming amount of unlockable stuff that's in the PSP versions.

I also want to trade my US version for the UK equivalent.

As for trophies, I'll agree with MGS4. Mainly because it's in my backlog and I enjoy games more when I can look to see what the trophy I just earned is for.

MGS4 seems a perfect game for them and I'd happily play through it again even though I must have complete it about 10 times or so.

Added trophies just for the sake of it seems pointless though. The trophies would need to add something new to the game to really be worth anything.

Hoolak, if you're doing some sort of undercover market research can I also please suggest PlayTV. There was some really crappy film on late a couple of nights ago that was so bad, I just had to stay up and watch it. There really should have been some of bloody trophy for that!!!

This whole 'all new releases from 1st Jan 09' thing that Sony has implemented regarding trophies in games... do you think the Platinum range releases are exempt? I'm just thinking of the upcoming MGS4 release...

It's only games where the initial submission was after 1st january 2009 that are required to have trophies so re-releases will be exempt.

Bionic Commando Rearmed. Like DMC4 everything is already in place. I read that this would be getting patched so I stopped playing it but it looks like that was a bull**** lie.

Just how hard can it be for the in-game accomplishments to be upgraded to award a trophy?

The only game where i really want them is MGS4. I stopped playing it once i read that it will be patched. And i'm still waiting. Now i have a huge backlog of games as well. FIFA, Killzone, LBP, Dead Space,Skate 2, Resi 5 will be here soon. So come on Kojima stop with the MGO updates and just give a small patch!

The only game that would make me go through the experience again (for trophies sake) would be Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction (and Quest for Booty too).

I played MGS4 just for the sake of finding out about Snake's legacy and how his story comes to a closure.

I don't know about NEED but there are some games that SHOULD have trophies... specifically ones that have achievements on 360 but nowt for PS3.

Off the top of my head that includes Devil May Cry 4, Megaman 9, SSFTHDR & Way of the Samurai 3. Completely unforgivable in my opinion - DMC4 is the only one I would make allowances for because it was released before trophies existed.. however a caring publisher would have patched them in.

Games I'd like to see trophies in are Everyday Shooter and maaaaaybe MGS4 but only if they avoided giving trophies for any part of MGO.

I'm not really a fan of online based trophies in general as too much of it is out of your control. Particularly with MGO though, the rank and title system ensures there is no fun in the experience, just bloodthirsty competition - trophies would make it worse.
