Thanks for using one of my comments for Mirror's Edge!

I'm really pleased Fallout 3 won - for some reason I didn't expect it to be quite so popular. Kudos to all everyone for their opinions, it shows how diverse gaming is becoming that there was such a variety of titles in all of the categories.

So, 8 out of the 10 GOTY titles, on an import website, were actually made in the west? Interesting!

I honest to god expected to see Valkyria Chronicles in the number 1 spot. Very surprised at how little love this got - people on here should have been all over that title like a bad rash.

Actually, I also expected stuff like No More Heroes and Siren: BC to be in the list, and possibly a handheld title. Or were handheld titles not eligible for voting? I mean, jesus people, not ONE handheld title?

Possibly the strangest GOTY list I've seen. Whoever said democracy works?

You can import from the east as well as the west

I think the NTSC-UK where Valkyria etc would have got some love, died a long time ago now. As the membership become more pal orientated then the GOTY would evolve in this regard also.

Was a bit dissapointed that The World Ends With You wasn't in the top 10. Most creative title to come out on the DS (or anything last year really).

It has been a strong year for Western games and a weak one for Japanese though. The lack of PS3 success left a few devs in flux and lots had taken a 'wait and see' approach with the Wii. I fully expect this year to be much better for Japanese devs.

There were plenty of handheld titles voted for. And Valkyria and No More Heroes were just outside the top 10 which is pretty good for an SRPG and a game virtually no one has heard of. Which feature were you reading?

I read the main, but skimmed the list of names at the end of the main write up. I don't recall seeing a handheld title in the actual main top-10. Perhaps it would have been an idea to split console and handhelds up?

I don't see why, PC and console games are not seperated in such a manner.

From your previous points about the Forum having a prefence over Japanese games, I feel this game of the year article proves not ony how diverse we all are and have no one major prefrence; but also how far developers and publishers have come in bringing their games over to the west and their improved porting methods.

No longer are we subjected to the awful days of 50/60hz, no widescreen and speed decrease. Times are a changing!
