Excellent. Irrespective of what games are in what position, I'm really glad they defined the list like this. Too many 'Best Games of All Time' fail to do this, which means you get a mish-mash of still brilliant games mixed with games that were good in their time but have since been surpassed.

There are a few games in that list which mash up recent Edge history. Who would have thought Fallout 3 and Bioshock would be in the top 40?

Obviously I could argue that x should have been higher than y, but as lists go that is actually pretty good.

Interesting that Final Fantasy 12 has gone from number 4 (?) in their previous top 100 to number 25

I really should try and get stuck into Fallout3. I just fails to grab me every time I sit down to play it.

I was hoping that with the milestone of issue 200, Edge would finally dump the scores...but I guess not.

I still read it every month as it's by far the most intelligent and thoughtful videogame journalism out there, but I wish they would take the first step that everyone else is afraid of and dump the scores for good.

(I'm not intending to reignite the scores debate here btw, just thought it might (remotely) be on the cards with this issue.)

From what it says on the first page it sounds like this issue will come in a bag so you won't get the choice of which cover you get. Sneaky.
