    Atelier Rorona [PS3]

First details of a PS3 game in the ongoing Atelier franchise will be revealed in in this month's edition of Dengeki PlayStation.

There are photos of the magazine if you Google the game. Not a hell of a lot of info at the moment apart from retailers listing it with a June 25th release in Japan.

I know it isn't really popular now but I still enjoy turned based games so I'm hoping they don't change that.

This is one of the PS2 games to give people an idea of how the battles play out.

A bit of detail...the Iris series consists of 3 games and each has its battle system; the Dengeki advertisment had two payoffs: "I'm tired to save the world" and "welcome back". Zepy have speculated that Rorona will return the series to its origins, ditching RPG gameplay, which is something I'll appreciate a lot as the three Iris games and Mana Khemia weren't exactly the best JRPGs out there.

Loads of new screenshots, don't think graphically it'll be competing with anything that Namco or Square have to offer but Gust are only a small dev anyway, I think it's got a nice clean style to it though. Hopefully it'll get a western release.

I think it looks pretty nice, shame the ultra bright, slightly washed out characters contrast a bit too much with the fairly plain backgrounds. Would've looked better toning down the white and introducing a bit more colour. Very nice cell shading though.

Confirmed for an EU release by NIS Europe.

Not too many decent budget PS3 RPGs around at the moment so that's a nice announcement.

            That's really good news.

I know some people complain about them, which I can understand but I really like the graphics in things like this and Disaea 3.

I always try to appreciate good art design. It's nice to have a game where someone's spent a lot of time creating characters rather than playing another bald space marine killing space lizards.

Thing which annoyed me with Disgaea 3 was not redrawing the sprites for HD, bit of laziness resulting in blurry filtered sprites on pin sharp backgrounds

I just hope NISA will take some time to QA the translation and what's shown on screen, their latest works were quite atrocious.

Indeed, their quality control is just incredibly bad.

Several crash bugs in Rhapsody DS and all the DS bonus content disabled.

Ar tonelico 2 has a crash bug on the final boss that will hit every time unless you beat it before a certain attack is used(although it was fixed for the EU version), untranslated text left in, genders randomly switched, wrong names used. Utterly shocking localisation.

                    English trailer from NISA.

Still "fall 2010" and not detailed date.

Seeing the trailer and comparing to Totori does show how much they improved the visuals in the sequel...

Still looking forward to this though. Could be the only hardcore(ish), non crossover JRPG released for the PS3 in the latter half of this year.

Hmmm... Do I pre-order from Game where it's £7 more but you get the OST or from amazon...

The music in the trailers sounded great but all to often these OSTs are crappy 7 track affairs that don't even feature the theme tune.

If it's the same CD that I got with my order of the US version from the NISA website, I can confirm it's not a 7 track CD but I can't be certain whether it's the full soundtrack.

I can get you the full tracklist once I'm home if you'd like.

                            MEGABUMP

Just started playing it. Forgot how absorbing these games are, played for a couple of hours and it flew by.

Just maxed out the first task, the deadlines are incredibly tight to max them and you start a new task straight after. Kinda wish they'd give you a week or two after each task .
