The exception to that is (I think it has to be mentioned in every 'boss' thread we have) the final boss in Bangai-o. Success or failure was entirely under the players control, but that didn't stop it being incredibly frustrating due to the pin-point timing required.

I only really get infuriated when some game coding flies in the face of the entire point of the game. Specifically Full Spectrum Warrior. I have cleared areas completely and enemies have appeared in locations that they could never, ever, EVAR have got to without me seeing them. Ever.

        Ever.

So frustrating that you chose to base your user name on it and constantly rub salt in to the wound?

Yes, despite its flaws it's still my second favorite Xbox 1 game.

I just really hate games where the AI cheats (Seth in SFIV is getting on my tits with his clearly player input-based counter attack strategy) and where shortcomings in the coding / functions hold you back. Dodgy cameras are the obvious and easy example.

This is a game abstraction which I was quite happy to live with. Remember this was designed as a FIBUA sim for the US Army. When the entire local population is hostile to you there could just as easy be a jihadist crazy man in every house, waiting to pop up behind you, and since you're playing the section commander it's your responsibility to account for that. You've got to ensure all-around defence at all times, it's a fundamental combat skill. There's also the Fog of War view within the game that lets you see where uncovered areas are and re-position your men to cover them.

              So there!

                *cough*Every Resi up until 4*cough*

Oh, and Mario Kart just takes the piss nowadays. It's barely a game anymore.

Timely thread because I've been experiencing serious anger management issues with Resi 5. The game does its very best to make even the most mild mannered player froth at the mouth with incandescent rage - QTEs that catch you unaware, enemies that soak up bullets like sponges, bosses with invisible weak spots, ammo shortages, Sgt Tackleberry from Police Academy as a partner, clunky controls, dodgy camera angles and an inventory screen forged in the depths of Hell.

The game even makes you jump through hoops before you get to play - Press A to select a storage device, press A if you are absolutely 100 percent positive you want to select that device, press A, press A, press Arghhhhh...
