If you're a fan of old Resi, you can't really go wrong with Umbrella Chronicles, it's pure fanservice for the long-term fans, and great to play through things from another perspective.

I wouldn't recommend Disaster Day of Crisis though. That game is dog food.

Anyway, can anyone tell me if that Opoona is any good? I've seen it going for about 14 quid. Is it worth picking up?
I could understand someone deeply disliking the Wii. It's more than just a machine - and it's the ethos surrounding it that annoys a lot of people. I personally have gripes with the tech, the low amount of good games for the machine, and the overall casual stance, but.. I don't hate the machine.

I like a few games for it:

Mario Kart: Nice visuals. Lots of tracks. It's a fun game.

Mario Galaxy: A good looking, fun experience.

Excite Truck: Looks really rough, but is reasonably fun. It's a shame you can't use a joypad - which would have been much better.

Smash Bros Brawl: Very effective visuals and it's full of crazy fighting action.

Can't really think of many other must-haves. I wish there were a new F-Zero, Piltotwings, Star Fox. Can only keep my fingers crossed.

Think the games i'm going to go for first off are Twilight Princess, Ghost Squad, HotD Overkill and World Of Goo for now. Plenty there to have a look at though, thanks guys
I'm also a huge shoot-em-up fan, but drop one of Ghost Squad or HOTD and get Super Mario Galaxy. I love both those games, but SMG? It's on a totally different level. If that isn't one of the initial games you get, you're going to be kicking yourself later. SMG is 'best game of all time' material for a lot of people - you have to give it a go.

Super Mario Galaxy is not as good as Super Mario Bros 3 on VC.

Seriously though, if you have a Wii and don't download SMB3 you are a soulless husk of a man... Or just really young.

Or you've already played it to death since it was released and don't want to part with more money.

Rune Factory Frontier just debuted in the US and hopefully that'll make it's way to Europe sometime soon. That's one I definitely recommend.

The Wii will be landing on my doorstep with Mario Galaxy, it's THE reason i decided to finally get one

Matty - I am neither a souless husk (?) of a man, nor young unfortunately. Along with SMW, Mario 3 sits firmly in my top five games of all time. I own it in several different forms & have it on my modded xbox ready to go when i feel the urge
One game i will be downloading for the VC, however, is the godly Wave Race. If Club Nintendo Japan released an N64 controller for the Wii (along the lines of the SNES classic controller) i'd be all over it

                  Lists? I love compiling lists!

                  Boom Blox
                  De Blob
Dewy?s Adventure (an oldie perhaps but it is a hidden gem)
                  Eledees
                  Endless Ocean
                  Kororinpa (my favourite Wii game)
                  Mario Kart Wii
                  Metroid Prime: Corruption
                  No More Heroes
                  Resident Evil 4 (Wii Edition)
                  Super Mario Galaxy
                  Super Paper Mario
                  WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Zack & Wiki: Quest For Barbaros? Treasure

And of course, the two recent releases, House of the Dead: Overkill and MadWorld - both showing that mature games can be found and played on the Wii.

PES 2009/Winning Eleven 2009 apparently awesome better than the next gen versions and has a really good flow about it when playing. I don`t own a Wii but played PES 2008 on one and thought the oppurtunity for different types of play was astounding, the new one betters this with extra modes from the next gen vers too.
