I mean the bit about download rights to disney characters. Why would Disney not allow their characters to be in a downloadable game? That's the bit I don't understand.

The contract was probably negotiated during the PS2 era at which point it would have seemed strange for Square to risk making the contract more costly for them by changing distribution from "physical media" to "physical media and DLC".
Given the huge corporate nature of Disney, they're probably pretty strict on the terms of their contracts.Comment

It's safe to assume that Disney also like money though. There's talk of downloadable disney characters for LBP and there's already a Winnie The Pooh game on PSN (I know Disney have some rights to Pooh, possibly this means nothing though compared to mickey mouse etc.).Comment

Disney make more money out of Winnie the Pooh merchandise than Mickey merchandise. It's probably one of their most lucrative IPs.
But that highlights the problem. There's already a Winnie the Pooh game available to download. It's possible the publisher paid a lot of money to ensure they're the only people who'll release a game with Winnie the pooh downloadable game on the PSP.Comment

Party Time with Winnie the Pooh is published by Disney on PSN though so it's not like they appear to have a problem with the whole thing. I suspect that if this doesn't come out as a download then it'll be because of some nonsense on Sony's part.Comment

Thinking about it, it does seem odd as KH was moved over to Disney Interactive for publishing after the first one IIRC. Disney Interactive obviously would own the rights to Disney properties. If this is true they must've licenced out exclusive download rights to another company without thinking.Comment

Roxas' Voice actor (Jesse McCarney)has confirmed a Western release for this (will be voicing the Roxas lookalike). It's semi amusing that he bears a bit of a resemblance to him. If he just spiked his hair up a bit...
Given there could be quite extensive VA work in this compared to KH:358/2, it'll be interesting to see how many return. Alyson Stoner or Hayden Panieterre (however you spell it) doing Aqua? Will Disney get all their TV series actors to return?Comment

It's rather good and certainly seems to cover an extensive amount of story. I read a bit about Coded (now thats its finished) and it makes no sense at all; so here is hoping this does a better job.
Any news if this will be on the PSPgo japanese launch at all? Considering getting a PSP again, wanting to know how I go about getting the Japanese stuff.Comment

There was talk last month that Disney digital distribution rights were going to be problematic in terms of BbS being available on the Japanese PSN but it hasn't been confirmed either way yet I don't think.Comment

Current rumours suggest this won't be available as a download.
Incidentally I've read that you pick one of the three leads and you play their side of the story. Hopefully there will be big differences in terms of story between them because you just know the conditions for the KH3 teaser will be to play through with every character.Comment

I've heard a different story.
Square didn't or doesn't put this on PSN in an attempt to protect the game against hackers. Apparently, the game is coded so that it can't load from a memorystick at all.Comment

I'm pretty sure I've read that this contains an install option like Dissidia (3 levels of install) and the creators mentioned that the game flows so much faster from a full install it alters how the game 'feels'.Comment
