    DS must haves?

Searched for a few terms but nothing seemed to come up or was that recent!

I think the last time I had a DS it was just before Metroid Prime came out so quite a while ago now!

Any suggestions, how good are all of the Final Fantasy titles in particular? Oh and is Diddy Kong Racing the same with a D-Pad?

Also hoping I made the right choice with the DSi as it slipped my mind that now I won't be able to play A Link To The Past anytime soon!

    I think these are great

    Peggle Dual Shot
Ketsui Death Label (but expensive as hell)
    Trauma Centre 2
    Animal Crossing
    Rhythm Tengoku Gold
    Magical Starsign
The World Ends With You (amazing best rpg on the system by a mile)
    Contra 4
    Chrono Trigger

The Final Fantasy games on DS are ok, they are Final Fantasy (if you have played them before you know what you are going to get)

For Diddy Kong s'ok, Mario Kart is better though (IMO)

        Oh great so far, some games I would never have even considered ^^;

As for Diddy Kong that is a bit of a shame as I used to enjoy that more on the N64 ):

          Ouendan
          Ouendan 2

Make those two your first ones as they are the best games on the system IMO.

          also....

          Castlevania Dawn Of Sorrow
          Castlevania Portrait Of Ruin
          Castlevania Order Of Excelcia
          The World Ends With You
          Mario Kart
          New Super Mario Bros
          Puzzle Quest
          Picross
Kirby Power Paintbrush (or whatever its called in other countries)
          Space Invanders Extream
          Professor Layton
          Hotel Dusk
          Trauma Centre
          Trauma Centre 2
          Phoenix Wright
          Phoenix Wright 2
          Phoenix Wright 3
          N+

In fact you know what, I could go on and on, there are ALOT of must have DS games.

I think your biggest problem is gonna be having the money for them all.

It certainly seems that way, I must admit it was tempting to go for the flash cart route but I don't do that for gaming, it is the one area where things are fairly priced for what you get!

I think it will be mostly about prioritising a list and slowly making my way through them by the looks of things, some definite repetitions in the recommendations though so I think I will looking at those. Totally forgot about Kirby!

Ouendan - Never got round to playing this so will definitely check it out this time round

i imported this on day one as the original is one of the greats of the 64 imo. a few days later i threw my ds with rage and made the battery cover pop out (fortunately nintendo makes sturdy things but i still felt bad, it wasnt the dss fault). the actual racing is fine but its like rare tried to rip the soul out of game and make it appealing to the horsez generation. to get a boost with the hovercraft at the start of the race you have to blow into the fan... despite all that i wouldnt say its bad, its just got nothing on the original

                ANYWAY

                gta chinatown wars - get

other gooduns are eba/ouendan, mario kart ds (fantastic) hunters, phantom hourglass, jump superstars, phoenix wright, nsmb, disgaea etc

also, maybe not everyones cup of tea but i really enjoyed cod4 on the ds. n-space did an outstanding job of making a handheld companion to the main game. i must get around to picking up world at war...

Ouendan is great not very cheap on import, a slightly worse version was pal released / Elite Beat Agents, it can be had really cheap (less than a tenner) to give you a feel for it.

There are actualy a few decent First Person games on the DS, as well as COD4 and Metroid, both Moon and Dementium are worth a look.

They all play pretty well with the stylus.

Oh I guess I will just pick up Mario Kart first then as I don't want to ruin the memory of a classic!

Tales of Hearts looks good, shall be checking this out (:

I had heard really mixed views on the Zelda game, some seem to have loved whilst others hate it :/

                      Ah I may just pick up Elite Beats to see if I like it then, thanks for that ^^;

FPS is really not my cup of tea, especially on a handheld, never feels right somehow.

FPS actually work pretty well on the DS becuase you can look around with the stylus and its pretty precise.

I thought the controls for Metroid Prime Hunters was terrible. Whether its because i'm left handed or not i don't know. But Dementium controls incredibly well for an fps, there might be more but i can't remember.

I really need to give Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia another try. I just couldn't get into the new system when it first came out in the states.

Let me tell you a romantic story. There was once a man who loved puzzle games. He bought a DS, and then played puzzle g…

Possibly my favourite puzzle game. It got lost amongst all the other brain trainers so sold poorly, but this is seriously addictive.

                              Love my puzzle games and that looks heaps good, I shall go and watch some reviews now to see where it goes in my list of priority purchases ^^;

As for the FPS I stole my nieces DS this afternoon and it is fair to say it is not happening!
