    You sure they were american, as cex were meant to have stopped all imports of every kind for nintendo stuff. Although saying that in leeds one of my friends spotted a copy of warioware twisted & that definately didnt come out over here.

        Well they were in the thin, black boxes and had the ESRB ratings on them. Most games are available in both US and Euro boxes.

          CEx is the only place I could get a genuine uk version of 'the world ends with you'. £20 too. They are the best place to pick up ds games although gamestation can have some good stuff too.

            Don't buy DS games from Ebay. It was safe for a while but, just like GBA games, 99% of the stuff on there is fake.

            You can find legit versions though: Look for games with UK box art, counterfeit games almost always use US, look for auctions where they've taken pictures of the cart and box (counterfeiters never take the time to take photos). Check sellers past auctions (feedback ratings are useless), if they just sell DS games, avoid, if they sell a decent range of stuff, it points to an average joe seller or a game shop.

            But yeah a lot of games, especially RPGs only get a single run of carts. As these games tend to be slow burners without huge sales at release, quite often publishers don't order further runs and demand sky rockets for the few copies left.

              Ive bought plenty of genuine DS games off ebay, all you need is common sense really, for example if a guy has a shop and sells games for all different formats sealed then its doubtful his DS games will be fake is it?

                I refuse to believe 99% of ds games on ebay are fakes, i have bought a hell of a lot of ds games off ebay & not once did i get a fake game. Like rmoxon said if you do your homework then theres nothing to worry about, however if you just click on the cheapest auctions you can find, then you take the risk. One good way of spotting a fake is on the back of every game is a printed the game id in ink. Most pirates dont tend to bother printing the id on the back.

                I buy new sealed & japanese, the places that i buy from usually state that the are genuine & new games, japanese stuff is going to be harder to fake as you cant fake a club nintendo voucher, even if the game & manual fooled you, soon as you try to register that serial it would instantly be spotted as a fake if they made up the number on it.

                  Hmm well I took the risk on a Japanese version of Meteos so I shall soon see whether I was wise or not to do so, the seller seemed legit : /

                  Slowly managing to find most the games now but I think I have a good amount to tide me over for a fair few months, I kind of regret getting a 360 now as the DS is far superior in every way ^^;

                      I'm happy enough looking for games for peeps who can't find them on play-asia, etc.
                      Most stuff can still be had off Amazon Japan, but they don't ship outside the country.

                        Some older games are getting pretty pricey now. My local Gamestop has a copy of Electroplankton - they're asking $65 for it!!

                          Electroplankton is more an exception due to it not been a nationwide retail release as i think it was only available from the nintendo world store in the states, hence the price it seems to go for.

                            I picked up a version of Kirby Power Paintbrush late last year for 8 pounds, but never seen it since. Two PAL games I am having trouble finding as of late are Suikoden Tierkreis and Fire Emblem. Haven't seen either of them in the shops, so may resort to online if I can find Suikoden in stock online. I usually buy Japanese versions however with the exchange rate it is a little crippling for me, so am only buying Japanese Wii games at the moment.
