i have just got a ps3 and as it is reigon free for games is there any shumups on it that are worth a pop? raiden and other cave titles are getting releases on the jap 360, are they going ps3 as well, as it would save the wallet ache of importing a 360.

There is nothing much on PS3 shoot them ups yet, only on PSN at the moment. Super Stardust and Soldier X on PSN. -

Everyday Shooter is great. It's an arena style shooter, where each level has its own technique for scoring, and given the toughness of the game coupled with your tiny amount of lives, working out how to rack up points to gain more lives is essential from the start. It also has some pretty nice background tunes and sound effects, all done with a guitar. In my opinion it beats Geometry Wars 2 hands down (and I don't even own a PS3, having played it at my friend's I picked up the PC version). I wasn't to crazy about Super Stardust HD, the levels last a bit too long and there's not much variety, gets a bit boring quite quickly I thought.
From a Japanese point of view there's pretty much nothing, they're all going the way of the 360. Pretty frustrating really as I'm considering forking out for a Japanese 360 just to play shooters (I already have a UK machine), when I'd much rather buy a region free PS3 that would also allow me to play LBP or "Ico 3" (when it arrives).Comment
