Games everybody loves but you

I love these threads, they always turn into 'who can **** on the most amount of popular franchises'? Not saying I disagree with you all of course.

I'm not usually a game hater. There are lots of games that I feel are massively overrated, but I will usually focus on the good things within a game.

I can't think of many well-regarded games/series that I think are crap. Plenty that I find no appeal in, but I can normally apprciate why others might like them. Gran Turismo is one of those.

Mind you, I never understood the Halo hype. It seems that when the original Halo came out, people were stunned by an FPS that actually worked on a gamepad. But underneth this, the series always seemed about 3 years behind what had already been achieved on the PC.

Fallout 3, how boring is this, i think the second i discovered i glided across the floor instead of actually walking/running was the first hint i wouldnt enjoy this.

Fable 2: So many things wrong with this game its untrue

Zelda: Link to the Past. I've tried to play it several times over the years, and just hate it. It's frustrating and slightly too difficult (not insanely difficult or anything, just hard enough that I never actually have any fun with it). And what on earth were they thinking with that worm boss that knocks you out of the fight so you have to start over again? Rubbish. And the sprites are all really ugly.

While we're at it, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are better than Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, too.

Wind Waker is helped no end by it's graphics. The cel shading has an almost timeless quality whereas OoT looks very dated in some respects.

OoT is one of my top 5 games of all time but these days I think I'd rather play WW as it doesn't cause my eyes to bleed.

I'll guiltily admit to never finishing TP either. I just kind of lost interest in it.

For me that title is The World Ends With You on the DS.

I would barely consider this even a game. Same with Crisis Core. Square seem to have taken the same approach and convinced some people it's actually a game both times.

For me, there are loads of games I don't like. Like many have also said, that doesn't mean I'd say they're bad. They're just not always my cup of tea. There are those, though, that just baffle me and those are the ones that, like those Square examples, I just think - this isn't even a game. Metal Gear Solid 4. Prince of Persia, which now sits with an 8/10 rating on this site.

There are many, though, that I just don't see as being as good as others see them. Street Fighter 4 is a recent example. But I can't deny a huge amounts of the positives of a game like that and see where the draw is.

And, on the flipside, there are games that I think - how come they don't come up time and time again in top whatever lists and nobody ever mentions them? Like The Urbz. Yeah, you heard me. The Urbz. The GBA version of that is fantastic. Don't try to deny it.

FF 7 - One of the worst RPG's ever made

Sonic 3 - Just sheer crap

Area 88 - Slow boring and piss easy = No thanks

Super Ghost N Ghouls - The MasterSystem version of GnG is better than this overrated over hyped load of toss

Perfect Dark 64 - Take out the Multiplayer and the game is sh8t

Gears of war - Rubbish game , with poor controls and doesn't look half as good as people make out

FarCry II - How anyone can make out this a good game is beyond me

Out of curiosity, do you also think the stealth section in Windwaker was a worthy addition to the gameplay?

Twilight Princess. I played it up until I found out it takes 5 heart pieces to make a whole one. **** that ****.

Strider, after the first level its dull as hell.
Ghouls and Ghosts, I 'like' it still but only the first level is really lovable personally, playing it after that is an un-fun ballache.
