Do you think there is much chance of me getting into ECTS next year, bearing in mind that I'm only 16?

You will get in to ECTS no problem guaranteed
I was really a bit puzzled because it was so easy for anybody to get in. They were always going on about no under 18s and trade only and proof is needed to get in but its just scare tactics. There is no one there to check if you are who you say you are and the amount of people i saw with their name and STUDENT as their job title was laughable.
Ill see you there next year dude.

The huge screen with Double Dash playing was again completely unmissable. I say well done to Nintendo as they have done us proud this time.
Lots of uncomfterable laughs on the topic of imports though. Oh the hilarity of it.
I was disappointed overall with the content inside ECTS.
High Points :
Konami's presence. Nuff said.
N - Gage stand was heaving with people
pure entertainment people embarassing themselves on dance mats
XIII
Did i mention Double Dash and 1080?

Anyway, a giant stand clearly geared towards consumers and Nintendo fans (as you all say, the artwork and set up was distinctive and unmissable) may be well and good for gamers, but it totally jars against the concept of it being a 'part' of ECTS, which is geared for the industry - it's not a PR and marketing event for the general public, that's 'how' it made a mockery of it, regardless of content. Plus, pulling up outside at the last minute to show off your games no matter how good - and that Pac-Man game is ****ing amazing, granted - does smack of slight sloppiness.
Therefore, I feel my point still stands; PSE, as a consumer event, pushed all the right buttons. A giant cartoony stand from a company on shaky legs trying to prove it has something for everyone doesn't match up with what it's business and financial competitors were up to, IMO.

1080
Mario Kart : DD
Wrestlemania X9 amongst a million others which are already out on import were all showing.
I say hats off to Nintendo because it was a show in itself.

The Nintendo truck was by far the best thing at the show; the best selection of new games from anyone (including the whole of the Playstation Experience).
Yes, it should have been open to the public, but blame Sony for having such a large monopoly they can host the public gaming event themselves. Nintendo did the same in Japan when they held a huge monopoly over the market there (and a while after).
To open the Nintendo truck to the public would have meant going up against the Playstation Experience. They would have probably needed a different venue and perhaps even had to charge admission.
Given the current Sony-obsessed uk gaming hordes, there was no way Nintendo could have pulled that off. They could held a public event at a different time though.
Oh, and the Playstation Experience is not the main ECTS event, ECTS is! They both all under the 'London Games Week' banner.

I've just got back from London and the Playstation Experience.
Games that impressed:
Resident Evil Outbreak - Looks excellent, and I'm a sucker for anything co-operative. Shame the demo they had running was a little crash happy.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Absolutley love the cel shaded style. Seems fun in two player. The demo saw you going through one stage then fighting a huge boss. Impressive stuff.
Karaoke Revolution - Possibly the best thing ever. This will sell incredibly, a sure fire hit.
Games that did not:
Gran Turismo 4 - Possibly running in slow motion, I couldn't tell.
Sonic Heroes - Maybe it was the level I played, but this seemed like those awful sky rail levels from Sonic Adventure. Press to jump on rail, look at the pretty colours, three minutes later press to jump off.
The Virtua Fighter 4 competition was a mess. There were all these serious players lined up ready to battle, at least one of which had come from abroad for the chance to win a VF arcade machine. But them the 'competition' consisted of Emily Newton Dunn picking four random kids from the front of the crowd, and watching them mash the pad. One of which then went on to play for a ?6000 arcade machine.
Those 'serious' players were not happy.
Still, I thought it was ace, with only the long queues for everything detracting from the experience (but that's expected). I also have a whole bag of demo disks and free stuff. Hooray!
