    That Wonderful Feeling of Accomplishment...

...appears to extend no further than myself.

So, instead of trying to spread the love and appreciation... I'll just sit back and get hyped over HL-2.

    Have a good night.

F-Zero GX can reach points where you actually jump out of your seat, wave your fist, and shout "F?6!n' come on then!!" when you're on your own - Great stuff. Especially when you either beat one of the v.hard story missions or a forum time.

Why do we love games? I can tell you why, becuase we love the rush. We love that feeling. When you put all that time and effort in and it all comes off perfectly and you finally achieve that goal. After 80 hours you can finally say: "I've completed this game!"
Speak for yourself. For me, that's only a very small part of the reason.

I don't know why I play games, exactly.

Manta Ray, you've made my list of people I want to punch at the next meet!

I don't give a **** about why you play games exactly! It's a generalisation of why people play games. There are very few people who will tell me that they play games inspite of the fact that they hate them.

If you can tell me that you've never felt good when you've accomplished something in a game then you have a half valid point, although it would still not be worth sharing in this thread.

So pipe down, or be productive.

Manta Ray was making a fair point, and not a particularly negative one.

I would tell you about how impressed I was with the excellent co-operative play in GCN Four Swords to cheer you up, but I'm about to eat.

I've been doing that in some circumstances during Mario Golf when an incredible shot is pulled off Dave

Oh AND F-Zero GX of course
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

But my point is just such a generalisation that it requires no reply. Obvoiusly games are deep, and the experience can differ from game-to-game, console-to-console. But the fact that they are pleasureable is across the board. Why would you play a game out of your own choice every day if you didn't enjoy it.

Whether it be enjoyment from accomplishing a challenge, blowing some dudes arm off, cunningly planning a skirmish against another player, or simply kicking ass.

Underneath it all, games are meant to be fun, and that is clearly the point I was making, so people could share their experiences of fun recently.

While I do apologise for my negative mood which catalysed my reactionary response, I completely fail to appreciate the relevence of the post.
