Loading Custom Files/Patches to PS2 games

    Howdo guys,

I've finally got hold of a copy of Fire Pro Wrestling for the PS2 (Thanks Mr Mutants ) & I'd like to see about loading up some of the custom wrestler/ring packs on it.

Thing is I'm not sure how to do it
Is a Max Drive or Action Replay combo the only way??
Can I do it by any other method?

    Thanks in advance

I may be way off base here but if it's home made content rather than official downloadable content, you'll need to add it to the game data itself (unless of course it is added via save data.... then Action replay would be fine to transfer the save from the USB to the memory card.)

I don't have any idea what format your patches are in, but if they're in the usual ppf format you'd need to rip the discs, apply the patch with a ppf patcher and then burn the remade image. Of course then you'd need a method to boot backups.

Sorry my fault for not explaining propely the "Patches" I'm refering to are actually modified game saves which allow me to have WWE/TNA/UFC style characters in Fire Pro & would also allow me to update Winning Eleven with player updates as well.

So it's actually modified game saves I need to get from my PC to my PS2

Well game saves are easy...as you mentioned initially, on an unmodded PS2 a cheat device which gives access to the USB ports is the way to go. And once you have aceess to those ports you could even soft mod your console too...once soft modded game save manipulation/backup is doddle.
