This is out now on the Wii and DSi download shops. In Japan at least.
It's free so I'm quite happy to download and try it.
The DSi version is basically for downloading videos and coupons to so you can use them wherever. You cannot use it without the Wii version.
Wii version: 121blocks
DSi version: 120blocks
Videos stored on the DSi can be played back from the internal memory or SD card. The destination for saving them is chosen when transferring begins.
The first video available is of animals in Africa and takes up 220blocks, but gives you a 10minute long video with Japanese commentary.
Wii->DSi transfer times are huge.
All the videos currently available are provided by 7&i Holdings, so it's mainly cooking and propaganda.
The videos look good on both machines (though I don't have a HD TV anyway...) and hopefully when the service gets into full swing there'll be some good stuff to watch. Hopefully. Hell, I'd settle for Sazae-san.
