Mario Strikers - Gamecube vs Wii

I've played and enjoyed Super Mario Strikers (aka Mario Smash Football) on the Gamecube for some time now. I was wondering if the Wii version is categorically better or if it's one of those dumbed-down Wii versions with pointless waggle etc (Twilight, Paper Mario etc). Reading reviews has been inconclusive.

Personally I prefer the GC version. The additional stuff in the Wii version only make it overly complicated imo.

Yeah I have to agree. I enjoyed the Wii version, especially playing online, but I feel the Cube original is the better overall game.

Another vote for the Cube one. Just a better game for me.

Cube version all the way. It just feels better. That being said, there are some nice additions to the Wii version - online play included.

Add another vote for the gamecube one, i would suggest renting the Wii one, though if you can get it for about a tenner (i think it was ?9.99 pre owned in gamestation) its a worthwhile purchase if you liked the first.

Wow, a resounding victory for the GC, which is not reflected in the review scores at all. I'm not that fussed about online multiplayer - it is the Wii after all.
