It was £9.95 at places like Zavvi for ages. I don't know if it had a low run as the Amazon marketplace is full of chancers selling it on for silly amounts.

Sorry FullSpecWarrior, I don't know the first thing about Macs so I'm not able to help there. PT has low system requirements these days so I doubt it'd be too taxing. It ran very smoothly under XP on my nine year-old PC but I'm don't know how much of an overhead the XP virtual machine adds to a Macbook. I imagine that PT wouldn't be too much on top of it. There's a forum post here that suggests that it's possible.

May as well put this news in this thread, GoG.com have added Team 17 as a partner.
Launch games on the service are Worms United (of course) but the main attraction for me Alien Breed + Alien Breed Tower Assault
They say next week they will be releasing Superfrog and World Rally Fever: Born on the Road
More titles will be added throughout the year, Team 17 have a nice little back catalog so what's gonna be next?
ATR? Project X? Ultimate Body Blows? Arcade Pool? (with the cheating AI) Stardust? Super Stardust? Qwak?

So, I must had lived under a Rock when I was younger, as I never played Planescape:Torment. I also had not played Baldurs Gate 2. Are both of these games worth playing?

I have however played Baldurs Gate which I really enjoyed. I still have the discs for it.

What is the king of these types of games? Diablo? The fallout series?

planescape torment and baldurs gate 2 are fantastic

gate 2 is my most played game of all time played through it at least 10 times and i always came across something new planescape has a really fantastic story and setting

baldurs and planescape and the early fallout series (bar brotherhood) are more strategy based in the combat like pausing the game to plan out moves diablo is more action based

Cheers eastyy for the reply. I will certainly get hold of them. I had been meaning to go back to Baldurs for a while now, I might try Baldurs 2 or Planescape instead.

Planescape Torment has the best story of any dungeon crawler type game you will ever play, amazing characters and dialogue.

Diablo 2 is great too if you want something more actiony. It's not available on GOG but it is only a tenner on battle.net and a boxed copy can probably be found even cheaper. Alternatively Neverwinter nights is fantastic.

The best RPG on GOG.com though is the Witcher for me, brilliant game, and it's only about 6 quid. They have the sequel as well (even though it's not an old game) but I think it's much cheaper to buy that one from steam actually.

i think there is a mod called baldurs gate trilogy where it combines baldurs gate 1 and 2 plus addons into one giant adventure (and i think it converts the first game to use gameplay elements and the engine of the second game) dunno how good it is though

I'd say Baldur's Gate 2 is the King but the Diablo games will be by far the easiest to get into. I'm not a fan of any of the Fallout games personally but I love Diablo/Icewind Dale/Planescape Torment...etc.
