    Ds - Us

How many on this forum prefer to buy their DS games from the US? I'm thinking on the thinner cases in particular!

I do, it's definitely down to the cases and the art used. I also don't like having huge instruction booklets with 20 other languages useless to me.

all my games are japanese, so I get the awesome slim, black cases. Well, awesome when compared to the chunky transparent crap we get over here. If I wanted a game in english I'd probably go for the US version, but I don't think it's possible to get hold of them as cheap as the jap copies, most of which cost me only a couple of quid.

Me. I've missed so many bargains through my refusal to buy PAL DS games, but... Whatever.

        I'm a spine whore

this. all nintendo published ds games in australia use the black cases but for everyone else its down to pot luck weather they decide to go for fat or thing. unfortunately squenixs are always fat...

I prefer to get Us/Jap copies as they take up less space and usualy have better box art, its not so much to do with the spine though....

Yeah I'm guilty of this - JPN or US only. Sold what little PAL games I did have and replaced them with US counterparts a year or so back too. My recent frustration on this matter is Flower, Sun & Rain coming out over here first and me still being waiting for the US one to come out...

Mine is mixed, I just buy what I can at the best price, I dont have my cases anywhere on view and the games are all in a small case with my DS.

I've not particular view, which country I buy something on depends almost entirely on convenience. That said, is it the US DS cases or the EU ones which are a bugger to open? Almost as bad as the revised Saturn cases (cases which fall open vs cases which are incredibly hard to open...)

I go for the cheapest. Don't care at all about boxes & spines.

I prefer to have the US or Japanese ones but i wouldn't buy a game for lots more just to have them, there are a lot of UK bargains these days and i'm happy to take advantage of them. Also most of my boxes are away somewhere anyway so its not like i see them.

I don't really mind, although I do think the US cases are nicer.

Pal can be better actually. I occasionally trade my ds games in at the indie down the road from me, and they have a policy of giving a few more quid for PAL games rather than US. Bizarre I know, but I guess it's easier to sell the Pal versions.

I prefer to get my games from the US & Canada, but if the release date is close to that of Europe, then I'll go the PAL route. I've never imported purely for the thinner cases though.
