Metroid: Other M - Team Ninja does Metroid

Yeah, the next Metroid isn't another shooter from Retro, it's a third person action game from Team Ninja.

    Metroid: Other M.

I really like the look of it at first glance, I just hope it's a little more forgiving than Ninja Gaiden...

I hope its good. Team Ninja don't really exist anymore though, none of the main people are there.

That would actually be hysterical if it wasn't. Kind of Nintendo's way of getting back at all the people moaning their games aren't hardcore enough but wrapping it up in a beloved franchise

You might be surprised at the amount of studio churn that goes on that doesn't get reported on in the industry. Yeah, a director or lead designer leaving can change the feel of a studio, but the staff on the ground changes massively over the course of two or three years.

That looks great looks like a proper metroid in 3D, not that the others weren't good, just didn't feel 100% like metroid...

Third person... Euch. I'm not convinced they can repeat retro's achievements shifting perspectives.

Looks like a big ol' combat game to me. Very difficult to tell from a first trailer but, for me, I wouldn't yet be excited. But Nintendo are hardly likely to let someone butcher Metroid, are they? So it's got to be good.

But I still want a proper DS Metroid.

They've routinely allowed other developers to butcher their other franchises, so I wouldn't put it past them at all, especially not this generation.

Adore the Prime series and would play each and every one if Retro kept churning them out but this looks fantasic, great to see something fresh and exciting for the series again.
