lol, we've paid about £720 quid on monthly fees for ffxi so far, add in the cost of games and expansions and its about £800.

tbh the amount of enjoyment FFXI has given me, if you count the hours, puts any 40 hour JRPG to shame.

Considering all the leaks pre-E3 that this didn't get out there was pretty surprising.

It's quite ironic, the amount of people who are probably underwhelmed about FFXIV exclusivity megaton being an MMO... yet I'm wanting this far more than FFXIII if I'm honest. Can't wait for exams to be over so I can play FFXI again, I'm so hyped.

I was really hyped about FFXIII until I saw the trailer today in the Sony conference, I'm sure I've seen it before but today it just hit home how ugly it looks. I really hate the sci-fi setting. I'll still buy it though...

I'd imagine that the game must have world links to FFXI in some way... after all, if they've kept the character races, then surely there needs to be some mention of Bastok/San D'Oria/Windurst at least. Really eager to see where they're going with this.

Good news, it will be interesting to start on a brand new server this time round without high lvl JP players already way ahead.

Also would be nice if they kept the same server names and gave you the opportunity to claim character names from the same server on FFXI, so you can be sure noones gonna take your name.

Seems we have all 5 races confirmed back(Galka,Elvaan,Hume,Taru,Mithra(males to)), also DNC, SMN, BLM, WHM, RDM and WAR confirm fromthe art

I guess they have decided that the iconic races of XI are now staples of their FF online games now just like Chocobos, crystals etc. have become synonimous with the franchise as a whole.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the jobs for this.

I used to always play FFXI, but was away for work for months that when I came back, I was so far behind my friends I gave up.

This is a great way for me to get back in
Not sure how happy XI players will be if they don't let you migrate your character.
But then again, may be best to all start fresh.
