i dunno if kinect will be a nail in wiis coffing as the wii has sold so much already

i think the price point may be a bit off putting i mean the kinect alone its not much more to buy a xbox arcade

perhaps the kinect/xbox bundle may do well but i am not convinced most people i know wouldnt actually have the space to use it

I won't buy one as it is too expensive and lack the space. But I do think I want to try out dancing game. But I do that 3/4 nights a week on dance floor with proper ladies. But when I redecorate bedroom with painting, new carpet and wardrobe I will have more space.

So a show of hands who is getting it or already has it?
I will use what I have now dubbed as 'the PSP GO! excuse', I just can't resist new tech and it's just SO DAMN shiny I just need to spend the money.
Didn't realised there was an entire https://kinectshare.com/ site to show off your stuff with, new to me.

I would have though the Wii pathetic line up and dismal 3rd party support would insure that.

I think Goldeneye - Donkey Kong - Epic Mickey - Mario All-stars - Zelda Skyward Sword is a very strong lineup for Xmas/New Year

I got this e-mail from Gamestation this morning:

We thought you'd like to know that your order containing the above item(s) has left the building and will soon be delivered. Not long to go now ?

I have Mario All stars on my Snes, Who know when Zelda ships didn't like Donkey Kong on the Snes and I bet Epic Mickey will end up on the 360 and PS3. I do have Goldeneye on the Wii and its much better than I expected, but not inthe same league as most FPS on the 360 or PS3

Compared to the line up on either 360 or PS3 it's poor and lacking. Same old story with the Wii, months and months with out any decent games .Maybe that would explain why Wii sales across the board have drooped.

I totally agree with the huge wait for good games on wii, I still think the "mass wii market" has some life in the old dog(s) yet. If the Kinect were a little cheaper the magic ?99.99 then maybe it would reach the epic sales MS are counting on. For me personally I need some more core gaming experiences on the device for me to invest. But i do love the Kinect tech and what it could become or what cool new tools we could be using.

Edit...please excuse the formatting..pressed the wrong button.

I'm not fan of Natal at all , I think it's an over priced and over hyped EyeToy, that like the Eyetoy will seem great at 1st, but people wil soon tire and get bored of it.

To me MS biggest barrier isn't the control but the high price of games and its image.
The X-Box is still all about HALO and still seen more of a man's console, unlike SONY or NCL, MS has no In-house Teams that only make children games, no Family IP to build on.

The money MS spent on Natal, would have been better spent on buying the likes of DICE (for sequels to MM III and Rallisport) , Bizarre Creations, making sure Mass effect series was X-Box only; Ten funding sequels to the likes of Alan Wake II, Crimson Sky II, Blue Dragon II, LO II, O.TO.GI III funding a proper Panzer Dragoon and Steel Battalion sequels, Getting RARE to make sequels to KI II, Blast Corps, Kameo , Conkers Bad Fur Day having the likes of Ubi and Travels Tails make exclusive family friendlily platform and kids games.

To me that wouldn't have cost as much as MS is prepared to splash out on just pushing Natal and for me would have been better for all users on the 360

That list of games certainly is mouth watering, the kinect tech just iches some of my tech lust, its very true that the xbox is seen to be more "adult" orientated and Iam sure MS are trying to venture into new casual markets in an effort to expand revenue.

Microsoft have Rare overseeing many of the 'kids' things on Xbox, it's pretty much all they do now.

As nice as it would be to see those games ,That list of games reads like a list of commercial flops, why'd they want to waste money on that. Also they have got the likes of ubisoft

MS have all but killed RARE. The only decent game they've made this gen was Viva. To me there'a cap in the Market for a Adult like Platformer which Conkers II could fil perfectly, and to me I think more people would rather see RARE work on sequels to the like of JFG, Blast Corps, KI III, Kameo II rather than a Wii Sports RipOff.

I take the point about flops, though its not just about sales , its also about insuring a wide broad range of games on your console, that rivals can't offer, and it remains to be seen if Natal games will sell as well as the so called flops (even LO sold 700,000) much less pay back its development and adversing Budget

Also I don't think MS have done any deal with the likes of Travels tails or Ubi Soft for children and Platform games

why'd they want to waste money on that
Well to me $500 million on pushing Natal is a huge waste, they again this MS which paid $50 million for GTA IV Down load Content rights, only to end up on the PS3 .

I was initially very quick to poo poo Natal , while Im still highly sceptical it will bring anything truly new and unique , its simply too early to write it off just yet

Well 500 million is money well spent in my eyes if it creates a successful new format and we see some crazy new original titles that weren't possible until now. Ultimately as gamers that I something that we all want, Child of Eden may well be crazy and who knows what the likes of Platinum game or Kojima could think up for it.
Just think of the possibilities, the reaction from the hardcore gamers has been eerily similar to that of the unveiling of the DS and Wii (Gimmicky and Pointless type comments). But actually plenty of developers showed us plenty of viable uses of said gimmicks on both format.

Whatever your thoughts on the Wii may be, there is no denying there are some real gems of gamess that make fantastic use of the motion controls, it's just a shame that the industry doesn't currently work very well for companies wanting to make games for the core gamers.

I can only hope that with the Xbox already having that adult market nailed, means that Kinect games will actually be very well supported and hopefully we will see the types of titles we all want. But unless you are prepared to show an interest in the potential it can offer, you are part of the problem.
