It's sometimes all in the timing. The Killzone 2 trailer was obviously a fake, even when Sony at first tried to deny it. The Milo stuff only filtered out a while after the initial E3 presentation.

It also depends on general consensus about the company. People were really down on Sony at the time (it was around the same time as the Liksang debacle - remember the thread on here where loads of people were going to boycott Sony forever).

Years ago, MS got it badly in the neck for faking the shots of the original Amped and that was when everyone thought their console was a joke. If Sony released a faked trailer now, they'd get a lot more slack.

Endwar has a fantastic voice controlled system that made it the first console RTS on a console not to be hobbled by the controller imo.

I really don't see the difference between this and the music game instruments. Both are expensive peripherals that have no games which support them prior to their launch. How is this different from the first time Guitar Hero came out? Untried, untested game controllers sold at a hefty markup.

As shocking as it may sound a lot of 360 owners also don't have Wiis. When you've got companies like Rare and Lionhead supporting the system I'd be amazed if it doesn't have some good games coming for it. And with Banjo and Viva Pinata Rare showed that they can easily make a game that appeals to the casual player but is layered with huge amounts of depth to reward traditional gamers.

I think Mega Drive 6 Button pad, Dual Shock, Saturn 4-Meg Cart were wise investments, same for N64 Ram and Rumble packs I would guess the MD and PS pads sold great . I'm pretty sure that EyeToy sold really well (though that was sold cheap )

Fair enough, I guess I should have said 'pricey' peripherals/add-ons.

Well the Mega CD and PC-Eng CD-Rom sold in decent enough numbers. They're the only ones I can think off. Most have been horrible flops, which NATAL has written all over it

The ram pack was pricey, it made it £90 to play Perfect Dark.

Natal just needs that killer app to show everyone that they want it, no matter the cost.
People were quite happy to lay down £400-500 to play the mediocre Perfect Dark Zero or Resistance.

^I would agree with that if it wasn't forgetting who the target audience of this is supposed to be. It's only really people like you and me who would do things like that.

I think Microsoft will have this.

They'll have spent $Texas on making sure it happens...

Or you could buy Donkey Kong 64 and get the RAM Pack from Free (though to say the truth I got a RAM pack for Turok II) .
I can only speak for my self I bought a 360 to play COD II and PGR3 at launch , and a PS3 to play Motostorm . None of which I would call Medicore at al .

I see Natal as nothing more than a more impressive version of the EyeToy. Not really ready to spend over ?100 on just Natal , when the 360 controller is the best there is, and if MS thinks jonny casual is going to spend over ?100 on just a controller Then they're deeply mistaken in my book .

Needs to be ?50 to be mass market .

Well I for one can't wait for e3, we can all cross our fingers and hope that it's got some awesome software and it'll hopefully be cheaper ,although I doubt it will be, I'm confident MS will be gunning for the wii price point for a 360/natal bundle.

By the time the World Cup is starting to get interesting, we'll know one way or the other.

Not going to bother working myself up over speculation so close to the actual announcements.

I got it with Turok 2 as well, which was hard as nails! And if I didn't get it with that I'd have got one for Majora's Mask.

I thought the exp. pak was pretty nice. It would have been better if more non-required games picked up that it was there and ran smoother or sharper.

Imagine if the N64 launched with that extra RAM in the first place!

As for Natal... I can forget about immersive gaming experiences for at least the next 20 years or so. Nothing is going to immerse me as much as playing Prime 3 in my flat on my projector with a stack of joints all pre-rolled over the Xmas period with my doors locked. Now that I'm out of there and completely side-tracked with a female in the equation it will take me 20 years to build back up to that standard of living, if ever at all.

I never thought I'd move out of there. >< Gutted.

?100's a fair price. Will likely be ?80 in retail and <?50 after several months.

Same here. Its not on my mind all the time so we'll wait & see. If its over ?50 then I'll just wait until it drops lower in price as I'm in no hurry to get it on the day of release. The days of wanting games straightaway have long past me by...

                                ...thank goodness!!
