    US Snes questions

Howdy - a few ???s for those in the know -

    1) Can I use the power source from my PAL Snes, rather than a stepdown?

    2) Does the US Snes output RGB?

    3) How much should I be looking to pay for one - the only place I've found one is in my 'local' importers for ?90 - seems a tad steep.

    Cheers peeps

I believe you can use a PAL SNES supply with the NTSC... I am certainly using a PAL (non SNES supply heh!) one with my US SNES. And yes it outputs RGB... well the first model does, the SNES Jr model does not.

Get the US version mate. Okay so it looks like a purple breezeblock, but you can just remove the tabs inside the cart slot so you can play Japanese games without a problem 8)

ok, well i can't connect my PAL Snes power supply to my US SNES. any clues as to what adapter the US one uses? i have a mutli-plug mains adapter with 6 ends, nothing works with the US SNES.

I have a Jap console hax0red to be multi region with 50/60 switch, and RGB with the SCART cable built into it. oh....an a nice blue LED, got that with a few games etc for ?50 and it's completely replaced my PAL SNES and US SNES + Convertors All in 1 solution does the trick for me.

Get a US as if you have a super famicopm and want to play us games, you are looking at modifying (sawing) your case or using an adaptor. I use a Pal Megadrive 1 psu with the snes plaug fitted to it. Still my favourite console ever

                    www.collectorscardsandgames.com has some:

$30 for the regular one and $35 for the smaller, newer US version.

I bought a 3DO FZ-1 and a black Sega Sports DC from them and the guy seemed to be on the ball. Quick to respond to e-mails as well.

If you get a US SNES and cut the lugs out in the cartridge slot you can plug japanese cartridges straight in, its the only difference between them, wish I`d kept mine now
