Will FFVII UK off PSN work on a NTSC-U PS3 and NTSC-J TV?

I ask because my Japanese TV doesn't support 50Hz, and some PSone UK PSN games I've downloaded in the past don't work (i.e. Syndicate Wars, Error 80028F10 - cannot play this game at current video output setting). Anyone know for sure?

    Cheers!

I get the same error as yourself when I try and play PAL PSone classics on my NTSC-U PS3 and FFVII did the same.

FFVII is definately 50hz so don't get it. Get the US version as Gossi says

I've bought the US version of FFVII, and it works fine on my PS3.

Thanks Mgear - that sounds promising. I can't seem to confirm 100% that the US version will work on a UK (unmodded) PSP - can anybody verify this for me pretty please?

I have just downloaded the US FFVII and transferred it to my (japanese) PSP. It works as long as the activation account on the PSP is my US account. Obviously doing this will lock you out of any content associated to your UK PSN account.

Ah - that makes sense. Thanks C', much obliged.

Whats it look like on a big tv by the way, pixelly and orrible?

I played MGS at the beginning of this year (Completed it for the first time, go me!) and yeah it didn't look pretty, even with the upscaling. Main advantage of this I would think is to have it on the PSP, where it should still look pretty decent.

This is OT but not sure where else to put it -

I'm playing through FFVII on my PSP at the mo and it's glitched. I'm at the part where you are going up the Shinra tower to rescue Aeris... I came out of a random battle around floor 64 and all the text in the game vanished. The windows appear but there's nothing in them, the menu is blank and the battle screen doesn't show any numbers or anything (the health bar/limit bar are still visible though).

My battery died shortly after so I haven't tried reloading, just wondered if anyone else encountered this? (assuming the people who bought it have actually played it )

No, I cleared that part of the game without any problems (US download).

Plugged into the mains and replayed that section, no probs this time.

I'm a little surprised the PS1 emulation isn't more solid, I noticed some flaws when playing Castlevania too - the Outer Wall staircase went all flickery when I jumped.
