    Grainger Games?

Anyone used them before? They seem to have a lot of used games at some good prices... Just wondered what condition they came in, generally?

I got a game from them and they had a sticker on the middle of the disc that pulled part of the print of I wasn't impressed

I've used their stores in the North East and never had any trouble. There's often a sticker on the disc but it doesn't really matter, as long as you're not looking for a mega rare moneymaker or the pride of a collection. Cheap games, usually.

If I told you to only ever use Grainger Games for gaming purchases, I still wouldn't have recommended them enough

Crikey. Well they don't have any shops near me, but I was perusing their online section. They seem to be very cheap for preowned games. Shame the same can't be said for Game as when I was in one of their shops the other week, several of the preowned games that I looked at cost more than new copies.

Thanks for the advice guys, think I'll give Grainger a go then

Just buy a couple of cheapies and see what turns up. I've never used their online service before but the in store stuff is usually great.

FACTOID - Grainger Games started up as a stall-shop inside the Grainger Market in Newcastle. They were so successful, they expanded into Durham, Sunderland, and other areas. They obviously make money selling games at low prices, which makes a mockery of GAME and their extortionate ****bag deals.

Not heard of them before due to them being a bit of a local brand but I'm very impressed with their prices.

I've ordered a couple of used games to see what sort of quality they are in and because I'm off work next week so will hopefully get a bit of "game time" for a change.

I try not to use the major chains, mainly because most (not all) of the people in the shops haven't got a bloody clue what they hell they're talking about and they just don't seem to understand that putting game discs down face up on the counter while they look for the case is just not what you should be doing.

If they turn out OK I can see them becoming my regular shop. What are they like with pre-orders? Do they tend to get games to you by release date?

                    TRUFAX!
I used to visit that stall all the time in the good old days!

They are cheap, however for this reason they are prone to be infested with rogues! Not a major gripe but the quailty of some if their 2nd hand gear can be fairly questionable; they are prepared to take gear in a pretty shoddy state, it's simply luck what you'll end up with.

Pfft, what makes you think that I'd tell you how it works out Chris!

To be honest Chris, I'm probably not the person to ask with this order as both the games I've had are just a couple of weeks old so they really should be OK when they turn up...hopefully.

I'm sure I'll be on here complaining it if I do end up with a GameStation/Game style mess with their patented indestructible stickers that they cunningly place on every available piece of paper on the cover & instruction booklet.

IIRC, the sticker is a circular jobbie around the plastic centre of the disc. Of course, I may be talking complete bollocks, with my drivel dispenser fed by dodgy memory.

Fact: i am over-qualified to work in the Grainger Games warehouse.

At least that is what i was told at my interview last year. Looking at the staff they had in the warehouse i could see why they came to that opinion lol.

Still worked out earning close to double what i would be had i been given the job at the GG warehouse.

They have a couple of store's in scotland, one in hamilton and one in Kilmarknock I believe.

Nice friendly chaps in the store, I have never used them online tho.
