Ecco the Dolphin on Mega CD has a decent soundtrack (I'll have to link to a couple, seeing as there's no HQ option when embedded... meaning the sound quality is naff):

I love this track, but I think it gets a bit too powerful for so early in the game, especially the segment starting at around 2:19.

I've uploaded the entire Ecco the Dolphin soundtrack for Sega CD. What a sublime experience and a beautiful soundtrack by Spencer Nilsen. It's maybe a litt...

All these are composed by Tim Follin. Probably the most talented videogame composer of all time, his music has an unmistakeable sound thick with character and atmosphere.

I think it's pretty sad that videogame composers nowadays, despite having access to high-end recording studios packed with all manner of expensive audio equipment, choose to churn out boring and generic movie-esque, orchestral soundtracks. Just goes to show how technology is no substitute for talent and imagination.

Plok again. This one's pretty ravey, impressive considering the rave scene hadn't yet began.

Finally! I've been waiting for this thread to get to over 50 replies (2 pages) - the first page has been crashing my browser without loading for the past few days, lol. Too much YouTube? Is anyone else having a problem?

Yeah, the thread slows my PC right down too and is the reason I decided to use links for my faves rather than embedded videos.

Good choice on the Geometry Wars soundtrack Spatial, it has surprising decent music for such a simple game.

This was probably overlooked by a lot of people due to not even being in the main game, but I've got to post it up after revisiting the soundtrack while playing Warhawk. You could argue it's just derivative japanese wailing guitar, but it rocks hard!!!

It's all about 1:05 - try to fly in a straight line when you're headbanging, heheh

This is easily my favourite mix of the original classic Out Run Themes.

MAGICAL SOUND SHOWER [1996 Arrange Ver.] - taken from the awesome Sega Saturn port of the original game.

Just listen to how it builds up to the extra special awesomeness at around 4:07. They took a classic and made it even better =D

Really loved the moment when this kicked in during Trials & Tribulations. Can't say too much without giving away but it was a perfect moment matched with a perfect track.

I don't think anyone who had been playing through the entire Phoenix Wright series couldn't help but get a little excited when they heard this theme again.
