top 5 iconic end of level bosses

ive been asked to look at a marketing campaign and need your help!
what would you guys say are the top five best / most iconic end of level bosses?

1) Ganon (zelda ocarina of time)
2) psycho mantis (MGS)
3) Hydra (god of war)
4) sephiroth (FFVII)
5) Akuma (karetka - apple IIe)

what do you think? should Bowser or DR.Robotnik be in there?

Iconic is an entirely different kettle of fish to just great bosses, also you have to think that dedicated gamers will have different opinions to normal people.

One thing is for sure - if they are really iconic then pictures are irrelevant, but I'll put them on anyway.

5. Iconic to those who have played it only, but I have to include at least one of them to show my love - take your pick from the Demon's Souls bosses. I wanted to post a pic of Garl Vinland but can't find a decent one, so the next choice would have to be either the Tower Knight or Dragon God for the sheer impact.

This is the one that shot to the forefront of my mind.

M Bison and Sephiroth are two great suggestions mentioned above too - certainly two I'd agree with whole-heartedly.

For me, this particular colossus was rather iconic too:




Much like James Bond I find that, generally, people's favourite/fondest Zelda is the first one played - that certainly holds true to me. As such, the most iconic Ganon fight for me is that of Link to the Past.

M Bison is a classic boss.



Speaking of fighters, Eyedol from Killer instinct always used to cause me grief and is one of the first names that comes to mind when I think of bosses.



Finally this chap - the cyber demon. I know you eventually ended up facing several of these at once but the one at the end of the first episode of Doom really sticks out as an iconic boss.

There was a special bumper CVG Bunper magazine when I was a kid. Yellow cover. They had this picture and I was simply wowed, on the page next it they had Italia 90 on the SMS, which even plays worse than it looks.

I read that magazine at-least a 1000 times and that picture brought the memories flooding back

Many times did I get absolutely reemed by the duel AR34s he has, but once I figured he can't shoot across the gap in the square staircase, he only seemed a little bit petrifying.
