I could easily agree with the majority of these review scores.

For once GamesTM seems to have nailed it!

I'm sure the Halo and Prof Layton reviews will have fanbois squarking, but there's nothing new about either of them. They sell purely based on the strength of the brand, rather than their innovation.

Baws. This reminds me I forgot to cancel my suscription! Not in a protest way, just I don't enjoy the mag anymore.

I would consider myself a Layton fanboy but that scores about right for me.

Reading ntsc's review I was quite interested in picking up Stoked, but a 4 is not good.

Just read the review for Machinarium (PC), sounds amazing and, going by this trailer, it looks amazing too!

That really does look beautiful and communicates an organic quality and charm that only hand drawn graphics can provide.

Just played the demo and it is absolutely brilliant. It is basically a point and click puzzle game but I can see why it was awarded a 9 just by playing the short demo. Definitely gonna buy it when it is released.

I can't say i disagree with any of those scores, though i will be interested to know which version of GH5 was reviewed as by all accounts the Wii version deserves an extra point over the others.

Ah I must of missed that. The review of this is literally the first I have heard of the game. I want!

Scribblenauts an 8 did they just play the title screen and not realize that there is a game in there too, I want to love this game for all its charm and ingenuity. but its just so broken i don't see how they could score it as such.

Scribblenauts is a bit like games tm i really want to like it but its just so poorly executed and messy.

Scribblenauts seems to be getting a very easy ride critically all round, almost like its being scored for the scope of what its attempted rather than the quality of execution.

Scribblenauts is Spore mk.2 really. That said, it fails for different reasons, Spore scaled back it's ambitions and ended up a mini game collection with no replay value. Scribblenauts apparently had all the time spent drawing the sprites rather than coming up with compelling gameplay or a control system that's even half decent.

Going to be the first to say I'd give Layton a 7. There are some times when you don't really want games to change the formula much. Phoenix wright is another series that only needs minor changes each time to be a must play (for me).

Also contrasts with high scores for retro-ish sequels like Megaman 9 and Contra.

                              quoted for truth

you make a very compelling argument on both counts first you hit the nail right on the head with Scribblenauts i feel that if they come round to making a 2nd game and if they listen to what the problems with this game are they could go someway to having a very cool ground breaking title on there hands

and more layton is fine with me, im quite happy to get lost in that world again and do some more brain teasers. What i am really looking forward to is the feature length movie that is in production
