    Bahamut Lagoon

This game really is rather excellent. Recently reviewed in a past Edge I had never heard of it until flicking through the pages to the retro review. Tactics style battle sections with traditional story telling and everything else plus dragons, lots of dragons, big dragons that eat stuff and evolve ala Pokemon.

Some dedicated individuals made a translation patch for the ROM.

Just like Mana 2, SaGA, Fantasy V and the Front Mision games it's been converted.

There aren't actually that many big Japanese games left to translate.

Tactics ogre is still left to do, and its difficult to find information on any translation efforts.

I'm a bit tech thick - I take it you download their zip file, but then what do you do?

Rename the .ips file to the same name as your snes rom, example:
              bahlag.smc
              bahlag.ips

Then when you load bahlag.smc in zsnes it will automatically run the translation code from the .ips file This saves you having to patch it with a tool. Although if you want to play the game on a copier or put it onto a cartridge then you will need to patch the rom. You can do this with ucon64 http://ucon64.sourceforge.net and type:

              "ucon64 -i bahlag.smc bahlag.ips"
              to patch the rom.

Hope this is of some help, if not let me know

How can I put games on cart or where can you get copiers from? I wish someone would make some sort of gba style flash linker for a snes so I can play these games on my real snes rather than my mac.

The game was translated for the US Playstation. But it's rather difficult to find...

Yep I know as I was looking the other day. I'd lobve to find some way of getting game data (rom) into a blank cart, even if it can only be written to once so I can play these translations withput an emulator. All the copiers I have found all use disks and can copy to disk too which isnt what I want and they all lokk very ugly and wouldnt want them sat atop my snes!

Whoa hard core. I have emailed the guy to see if he would ever consider making me up a couple of custom carts, worth a try 8)

Failing that do you reckon there is anyone on here who would have the skills and or equipment to make one of these up?

                        one for Q&A i guess.

I do kinda, I'm in the process of fiddling about with this stuff but not upto the level of understanding all the fiddly bits for bahamut lagoon. So not really available to make one yet

Blu3Flame points to all his snes pcb's and other random stuff SnesDEV do seem to overcomplicate things to me as I'm going about it in a slightly different maner which uses a lot less wires, by following the traces on the PCB and altering them to point to the different pins on the eprom, rather than wiring up each leg individually.
