    Eurogamer Expo 2009 - Leeds/London

Couldn't see a thread on it and i wanted to talk about what i saw, did anyone else go?

Got there at 10.40 ish after a nice enough drive from nottingham with fellow forumite NecronomiconUK got in the queue and waited.
Near enough bang on 11 we started shuffling in and the gaming began.
Firstly will post impressions on the stuff i played with my own opinions (NOT facts)

    Split Second

was fairly smooth and a lot of fun blowing things up while racing was easy enough and it was burnout crossed with ridge racer. i liked this though it could get really repetitive if the tracks are not inventive enough

    God of War 3

While not a painting come to life, it did utterly blow my mind it's slick high def god of war x100 the demo i played numerous times. while spoling nothing helios gets dealt with in a very brutal way and the cyclops was very very gory indeed. This was amazing to play.

    Dantes Inferno

Played after GOW 3 deliberately so i could compare, this is a very competant GOW clone and was surprising in the looks dept as well as GOW clones go it was big brash and looked very good indeed.

    New Super Mario Bros Wii

Super high concentrated fun in a little white box, if you don't smile, swear and giggle while playinig this then you're dead inside. dead i tell you.

    Heavy Rain

i'm in two minds as an interactive experience it is very very cool, has a filmic grain on everything and the choices you make during the two areas do really affect the outcome. there is some detective parts with the glasses the detective wears it shows fingerprints and other evidence. Is it shenmue QTE? In places yes. If the story holds up then this could be a sleeper hit. It will also split the gamers down the middle as well if there isn't enough game in there. i really liked it others didn't

i played loads of other stuff including rock band beatles on a stage, left for dead 2 assasins creed 2, tatsunoko verses capcom with the new characters, monster hunter 3, gravity crash and saw a lot of alien vs predator as well (didn't like it enough to play it) didn't look all that good. Sreetfighter 4 proper viewlix cab (gorgeous) tekken 6 (have it on the way) forza super 3 screen driving sim with wheel.

im hoping others from here went as it was a really fun day out anyone else have opinions on what they saw as im sure i missed stuff.

Kind of amusing killing Helios considering you had to rescue in the PSP one

although you never actually see him being freed which is a bit of a plot hole

the london one appears to be 2 or 3 times the size of the leeds one, either way you should definately check out heavy rain and GOW 3 if only so we can have more opinions on it.

also please check out gravity crash, thrust with the graphics of geometry wars and a really fun game if the price is right. Also we played alien breed on the 360 while talking to some QA peeps from team 17. They were really funny and polite too.
it's like im bursting to talk games and no one here went
